Go easy on Boomer. He's having a tough afternoon. He's gone from questioning people's manhood to calling people perverts to begging us to "Think of the children", to gun control. It tough when you can't simply admit that you're wrong and keep digging deeper.

I'm not wrong, and you're still a douche.

1. Because you are using a fellow human being as a commodity.
When you pay for sexual pleasure, you are actually using the other person as an object. Objectifying women/men is one of the leading social diseases. So prostitution is extremely unethical.

2. Prostitutes are lucky ? NO! Prostitutes often undergo severe physical, psychological and sexual trauma. As I described in my first point, while using a prostitute, his/her feelings are not considered to be existent(there goes her consent). Perversion is abundant among even normal humans. It can be pretty extreme with some abnormal people.

3. Sexually Transmitted Diseases! Not only AIDS, many of them. Having sex with multiple partners inevitably cause STD.

4. Having sex is synonymous to making love. So, by paying for it , you are actually trying to buy love. Which is quite disturbing!

Cannuck, WLDB, JamesBondo, I'm not saying it's wrong.. just saying you have to be a pretty big loser to have to pay for sex from a prostitute.

Sure they are losers but who cares when you can make 500$ in 10 mins. Make a guy c u m fast and they are so embarrassed they can't get out the door fast enough.

So you're such a big defender of Prostitution, sign up your sister or your daughter if it is such a great career!
what a crock of crap...your sole intent here is to display your virility...you are just so awesome that YOU never have to pay for sex, girl are just tripping over themselves to sit on your dick

bitch please...

to label another human being whom you have never met and never will as a loser...seriously, is your ego that small...get over yourself...the sex lives of others is none of your f*cking business... if you don't think dinners and flowers and boxes of chocolates aren't payment in one way or another, you need to examine the whole male/female exchange...unless you are in a long term relationship, sex is sex...paid for in one way or another...that's truth, that's reality

their sister's and what they choose to do with THEIR bodies is also NONE of your business and your judgement of them in no way elevates you as a human being

I don't think anybody has suggested there aren't issues with prostitution but your comments are downright silly. Aside from the fact that you are trying to place your ethical beliefs onto others (I know, I know...David Suzuki would be proud), many of your arguments could be made when it comes to drugs and alcohol abuse. Of course, all of this is beside the point. You don't believe a person has the right to their own body. You can defend that any way you want but it is simply undeniable.

"...you're clearly not that sharp are you", is not name calling. It's asking a reasonable question. I have clearly and unequivocally stated that I believe a person owns their own body and you suggested that I was in favour of slavery. Your comment was nothing short of ridiculous. Now, you can admit that you were intentionally playing games or you can admit that can't see any difference between being a slave and having ownership over your own body. Playing games or not that sharp? Your call.

Sorry Cannuck, but I don't think that's what Boomer intended.
So Boomer, to what degree do you believe prostitution ought to be regulated?

Like brothels in Nevada would be fine.. at least the police can investigate and control any trafficking of minors.

Licensed, and regulated establishments.. also health certificates.

Just to allow girls to regulate themselves allows for abuse, and does not change the problem of trafficking, abuse, drug addiction and disease.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aekgeRAkko

Still think a man that has to use the services of some street hooker is desperate, risky and the guy has issues.

That make you happy Cannuck... you just never asked the right question. You're clearly not that sharp are you?

Nice flop flop. I knew you would come around once the evidence that you were wrong was completely overwhelming. I'm still interested to know why you care so much about other people's sex lives. Do you consider yourself a voyeur?

(Again, that's not name calling. It's just a question)

Seems reasonable enough.
Now you mentioned the men who buy such services have issues. As far as I can tell, services to help them exist already. Just Google sex addiction and psychologist for your home town and I'm sure you'll find a specialist in your home town at least if you have the money. In Ottawa it can cost 200.00 for an hour of the therapist's time. But then again, if you have 200.00 for an escort, you have 200.00 for a therapist.
What is lacking though is awareness of such services among potential clients and that is where the e
Educational regulation of advertising could come in.

Quit being a troll.. and go pick up a hooker.. we all know you buy sex now.

Nobody else would defend the right to, unless he uses the services he defends..

We do? How so?

I think it's pretty clear who the troll is here. I must say, suggesting I was gay in a feeble attempt to make a point was pretty lame, even for you.

Nobody else would defend the right to, unless he uses the services he defends..

Well, those of us that believe an individual owns their body would. Which raises an interesting question...since you don't believe you own the rights to your body, who do you think does?

But you say every guy pays, what makes a guy who goes to a prostitute more of a loser than a guy who pays for a big date and a night out for the same goal? If their end goal is the same they are both losers.

Or you could get married, spend big time and still not get laid plus having an extra boss.

Cannuck, think about this..

www.youtube.com/watch?v=61CKrXRhdRc

$40, 15 minutes and a life sentence..

What if you bring that back to the one you love?? Your wife or kids..

How would you feel then about prostitutes.

You give something like that to your kids you should get a life sentence.

That makes absolutely no sense. There are plenty of people on this board who defend rights or take stands for a lot of things they personally dont take part in. Hell some of them even defend your little gun fetish even though they dont have or want guns for themselves.
