You should. If the 2nd most powerful nation (some say first) can get it why can't Canada?

reach a bit, move beyond 1995 (Berlin COP 1) where the respective Annex country assignments were negotiated/made for the Kyoto Protocol... step ahead 2 decades to the upcoming Dec, 2015 Paris COP 21. Are you suggesting you already know that same "developing nation" emissions related status will again be assigned to China? Psychic powers?

besides, quit your whining about China... the U.S. did dick-all in Kyoto (well, other than influence the format, content and emission reduction commitments of other nations), so what's your beef?

Quite funny. In another thread you were stomping about at how the US was full signed members of Kyoto even without senate approval. Now they did nothing. LOL

no..... the U.S. had significant influence in how the treaty was framed, particularly to suit the U.S. wants... the U.S. had significant influence by it's participation and agreed to (signatory level) commitment... other nation countries followed the U.S. lead. The "did nothing" reference is in regards to the U.S. bailing on the treaty by refusing to ratify it.

Yes... China is the sticking point isn't it? It makes the alarmists look like weaklings and hypocrites.

And that is right... we didn't do a damn thing and we were right not too.

In fact .... Canada didn't do a damn thing either and ended up owing $14 BILLION.

It is going to be interesting to see for sure. If the latest "deal" is used as a barometer, I'd say the Chinese will get a sweet deal there as well. The Alarmists don't have the balls to make demands of China.

Good luck trying to collect.

I applaud that too! I loved the way Canada pulled the sweater over the UNs head.

Go Canada!

That's because they know where China will tell them to stick it ... and that space is already full with their heads.

Of course China would. Everyone knows it. Alarmists don't have the balls to go after China or India for that matter.

The Russians have already told the Alarmist to **** themselves.

you clearly don't understand the U.S.-China agreement... it's the U.S. that pretty much has the "sweet deal"! Effectively, the U.S. has to do not much more than what its current Business As Usual is realizing... the current ~1.5%/year emission reductions path the U.S. is presently following and realizing.

I applaud that too! I loved the way Canada pulled the sweater over the UNs head.

well, of course... you'd favour a Harper Conservative weasel move to avoid paying a penalty for completely ignoring Canada's Kyoto commitment; a commitment that was negotiated through a long arduous process between the federal and provincial governments. Well, of course... you'd favour a Harper Conservative alternative option instead of the Kyoto protocol, in presenting to Canadians a "made in Canada emission reduction commitment"... and then ignoring that commitment to Canadians. Well, of course, you'd favour a Harper Conservative alternative option instead of the Kyoto protocol, in presenting to Canadians a "harmonization with the U.S. emission reduction commitment"... and then ignoring that commitment to Canadians. Well, of course you would!

"Alarmists"??? Just who are you speaking to... specifically?

 I guess this is a real conundrum for you, hey? C'mon... give it a try!

Geez!

I've got some land in Florida for you!

Harper saved your azzes. Canada collectively breathed a sigh of relief when the Conservative government told the UN where they could stick the $14 BILLION invoice.

Can't say we in the U.S didn't tell you so! :)

Still on the merry-go-round from last time?

with whatever legitimacy the U.S. can call out any nation concerning current/cumulative emissions, today, Australia is numero uno in per-capita CO2 emissions...

India of all nations is at the bottom of the chart??

That has to be the most screwed up chart I have seen in a long time.

So all Australians need to do is have sex constantly and triple-quadruple the population of the nation so there's about a billion people living here and suddenly the pollution being emitted will suddenly look perfectly fine.

You're ok so long as you have a huge population. It doesn't matter if you have daily smog clouds through your cities like China..... It doesn't matter you have such a dirty river people swim in like the Ganges River in India..... It doesn't matter that the US is still trying to deal with that huge BP Oil Spill in the Gulf.

do some research/reading... edumacate yourself... do some learin'! Turn off Fox News!

and then Harper Conservatives lied to Canadians... twice... in providing emission reduction commitments to Canadians and then ignoring them. Like I said, several times now, please keep highlighting this lil' nugget you think you're making points on. I relish any opportunity to showcase failed promises Harper Conservatives have made to Canadians concerning emission reduction commitments.

Still on the merry-go-round from last time?

the only person on a merry-go-round is you; you steadfastly refuse to speak to your use of the label "Alarmist"... and in this particular case it was you using it in a most specific regard as reflects upon climate change negotiations. Again, just name them... a "collective naming them" will suffice; again, just who/what are your "Alarmists" you referred to?

are you struggling with the definition of per-capita?

You're ok so long as you have a huge population. It doesn't matter if you have daily smog clouds through your cities like China..... get a grip! Both total and per-capita were mentioned. Per-capita was extended upon in regards a specific reference. As of 2013, India's percentage of the world's CO2 emissions was at ~6.7% of total.
