Possibly...or possibly not. Time will tell. I think what separates me and RCS from some others is that we believe in due process. On the surface anyway, there are some questions as to whether this occurred.
Due process- what due process did CBC not complete?

while due process has to be the final judgement, we can also weigh the information we have been given up until now and draw conclusions from that info, there is no danger in that, as long as our opinions can alter with new input

I was just about to laugh at that.

Bwaaahahahaha!!!

The CBC is not a crown court, but thanks for the laugh.

I think it's highly unlikely that "damaging the CBC brand" is written into the workers contract at the CBC.
Nice edit. But I bet there is, lol.

agreed, so far that would appear to be the case

also keep in mind, that may well have merely been the last straw, he has a successful show, that equals dollars generated which means a greater level of tolerance for what may be viewed as personal peculiarities, but even that has a limit

The CBC, like any organization can get rid of an employee at any time for any reason, They only need to fairly compensate them. The CBC could have let him go and paid him a severance package. Since they didn't do that, one must assume they had reason to believe they had just cause. My concern is that the "just cause" is a crime that has not been properly dealt with.

I'm sorry you are having trouble following.

No- what due process did CBC not adhere to.
Did CBC act inappropriately or ignore your so called due process. No they followed all legal & employment processes.
It was the scum sucker that was misusing the Justice system, all to silence his victims.
Where did CBC not act appropriately?

Oh I forgot, you were ready to punch a female coach?? Would that be correct?

Yes. I believe they let out a lot of line leading up to this.

Totally forgot about that. That explains why Cannucks so upset.

Here it is
So I was at a volleyball tournament this weekend and a player on one of the teams hit his serve into the net. If looks could kill, the boys coach would be up for murder. I wanted to go over and slap the bitch.

The two biggest school sports are basketball and volleyball and internationally, we suck at these sports. That tells me the system is not developing world class athletes in theses sports. That's fine if that isn't the purpose. So the question is, what are we trying to accomplish with school sports? If it's developing skills, having fun, or learning teamwork, it's failing miserably from what I see. A coworker of mine's kid sat on the bench for two years because he wasn't good enough and he wasn't really upset with it because the team was winning. Is it really all about wins and losses? I'm just thankful my kids went to a school that place individual improvement over the team. One of my twins blossomed under that concept.

Yes. I believe they let out a lot of line leading up to this.

me too, most companies do even for your average employees

for big producers there's a lot of rope and some of it is even stretchy but bottom line is company safety

today even in lower positions such as mine that I currently occupy, the pay rate is decided upon by the amount of damage your mistakes can do to the company...thus on my contracts, I have three levels of pay that I bounce around between depending upon what I am doing...it doesn't vary by a lot of dollars per hour difference but it still varies

Then there could be no wrongful dismissal suit, union or non-union.

don't know, only am fairly certain the severance will have been substantial

We don't know whether they did or not. When this story initially broke, it was about his sexual preference and then became about alleged criminal activity. One is none of the CBCs business and one is a police matter.

it has been my experience that we always gave severance packages to managers that i fired and we always gave more than necessary...it covers potential problems down the road

Would an employee like Ghomeshi be working in accordance with a signed contract? Would the signed contract have some fine print? Would meandering from the fine print leave an employee open to dismissal? Since the taxpayer is paying for this A$$hole I'd hate to see anything carved too solidly in stone! :)

Wrong- try to keep up with the facts. Days have passed you by.
But then again, a confessed women beater, I see you sympathize, or relate according to your other OP.
