yeah it doesn't look good for his future...on the other hand, he won't have to worry about paying for food
It's incredibly brave of those 2 women to go to the police. If it wasn't for their bravery there's a huge possibility that nothing would have come from this.
Even if only 1 of those women had gone to police there's a chance that not much would have come from it. I hope they'll be able to maintain their forward momentum. Life is going to change for them and the hardest parts are still to come.
As for the innocent until proven guilty.......yeah I'm all for that but his supporters have to ask how committed they are to that maxim. Would they let their kids be supervised by someone who was alleged to be a pedophile but not yet proven as only one example of a 1000?
there's some hashtag about....yes I was assaulted and never reported it or something to that affect inspired by those women. I haven't followed it but it's there if you want to go seeking it.
Well, my parents let one such person baptize me.
Yeah i read quite a few of them last night. Very depressing stuff.
I started with a few from the news article, the stats are very bad for women who have reported it vs. prosecution rate. Things are changing slowly but we are moving in the right direction.
I read a statement by a newsman in the private sector. Dave Biro from Vancouver Island
basically said Jian Ghomeshi does not understand the role of someone in the media. He
is to be held to a higher standard like others in the same business. The reason is
perception is bigger than reality and the image of an institution can become as tarnished
as the individual.
I noted this days ago, so bang on. This really only needed to be said for people who aren't very bright.Interns from colleges work in that building, other vulnerable employees might also be working there
it is a company responsibility to protect employees in a workplace. And if these allegations prove
true CBC could be liable if they didn't act. At what point does a company take action at what point
does a police investigation take place and when will we know if anything more serious constituted
the decisions made?
Not only that but with mass media these women now have to deal with death threats, rape threats, torment, character assisnation, and the world knowing your humiliation. Knowing that everyone knows what you went through and might be treating you differently because of it or not taking your ideas, thoughts, responses to things seriously because they think you're responding that way because of what happened. What a sh it way to have to live.

.
Well, being an a$$hole isnt a crime. Half the members on this board would be in prison if it was.![]()
At no time during your baptism were you left alone with the Priest/Minister. Not a valid example.
At this point (being able to safely conclude, I think that the women aren't lying) the only support Ghomeshi deserves is a defense lawyer to see he has a fair trial before commencing a lengthy term in durrance vile!![]()
They let the f*cker touch me. Close enough.

I don't think anybody is suggesting that the CBC should not have acted and if he was let go for actions in the workplace, the CBC would be completely justified in their actions. Since we don't no all the details of the reasons behind his firing, we can only speculate. It would be silly to suggest that firing him is the only way to "protect" coworkers if nothing inappropriate occurred in the workplace.
Women get raped and make dinner. WTF? Maybe that's a part of evolution too.
