I see this as a lack of security in general around the parliament and Canada's major politicians.
This guy should not have gotten within five blocks of the parliament with what he was carrying and supposedly what his radical views and criminal record were.

And who is ultimately responsible for the security.
And who's going to see an increase in their manpower and massive militarization of their organization because of this.

I don't see this as a true terrorist attack like the news media and government officials are trying to push it as.

But more as a mentally disturbed manipulated religious zealot who is able to breach security that had more holes in it than Swiss cheese.
Much the same as our former prime minister's wife having to protect her husband with a butter knife in their own home because of security being asleep at the switch.

This should not have happened in this day and age. And sadly it will be used by politicians and the police take away even more civil rights of honest Canadians.

nothing is secure and perfect unless it's full blown police state eh...heard another loon jumped the fence at the whitehouse...if they can't keep the crazies out 2 weeks after the last guy what can the rest of do short of locking the whole country down.

Even police states have issues. You can't catch everybody.

The security that's there must be competent, and not ceremonial.
were eventually are going to have people calling the security heroes for stopping this gunman.

When in reality if they were doing their job correctly he should not about within blocks of the parliament.

I am very jaded, by the way terrible events like this are used by governments and security forces for their own agendas.

Are you aware of the contradictory nature of your commentary?

What is noticeable, which is something that was mentioned on the Sky News newspaper review last night, is that this story didn't even make the front page of a lot of British newspapers. It shows how little Canada is on Britain's radar, even after an event like this.
You will recall that in the two World Wars that it was Canada coming to the rescue of the UK rather than the other way around. It is no different this time, Canada is involved in support of the US/UK alliance just so the world will think you are on the moral end of the stick instead of both countries being the crud on the other end. Probably one of the bigger reason you north part wants nothing from the south.

and not written by him either.

fukkin' may and not acknowledging terrorism...such a vile woman.

I think the act was terrorist by nature but I am not convinced it was ISIS inspired. It was too low key and too much like a couple of loons (granted they were molsem loons) going off and snapping. So I would classify it as domestic terrorism like McFay in Oklahoma rather than foreign like 9/11. Thats my opinion with the facts that have come to light so far. That could change if more evidence comes to light.

LOL

Say has anyone given this a thought??

1. The shooter had lengthy criminal record

I keep hearing that but so far I've only heard of ONE fairly serious charge that he did 61 days for and one minor infraction by the age of 32. Let's hear about all the other convictions! :)
