Halifax needs to get a team or Quebec City.
Those were the two I was thinking of! Maybe I ain't as Canada-ignorant as I thought?

The only change I would make under a major expansion in the U.S. would be to change the roster quotas from "Canadian" to "non-American." That would still limit the dominance of Americans, whilst opening the rosters to Australians, Germans (excellent football in Germany), and talented athletes from other countries.

Saskatoon will probably have a team before Quebec. The east coast desperately needs a team to make it a true National sport. Same goes for hockey but the Newfs or Capers would probably drill holes in the ice and start jigging.

They did that this season.

Argos are first place. I think 3 wins should about clinch it for 1st place in the East I imagine.

And lots of BC Lions fans are happy today. They get a free ticket for an upcoming game thanks to them losing to the Riders.

I can't see how tonight's CFL offering could have attracted any new fans to our league on either side of the border - just this siding of a snoozer for over a third of the game.

It was a battle of attrition by the opposing defensive lines. A good deal of many offensive advances by both teams were soon taken away by penalties.

Hank had a particularly bad Hank night ..........coughing up a turn-over at one point. But to be fair, he had a number of receivers drop catch-able passes. Ottawa did manage their first TD in over 190 some odd minutes according to Rod Black.

Jonathan Crompton is the Al's latest entry as QB pivot. He had a passable night throwing 0 TDs and 1 interception but managing to take his team to a victory over the hapless RedBlacks.

20 to 10 for the Alouettes.

Somebody other than the Argos has 2 wins. I guess it is inevitable as they do play each other.

Until I witnessed the Lions-Redblacks game with my own two eyes I didn't think it was possible to see football played that bad.

7-5 BC. The only scoring in the last half was a punt.

Oh, and looks like Lulay will be gone for the season. Shoulder gave out.

Eastern teams have maintained their unblemished record of 0 wins when they travel to play in the West. Montreal lost 33 to 16 against the Eskimos tonight in one of those games I was glad I didn't give up on - it would have been sooo easy to do. But the 4th quarter made it all worthwhile.

As much as I did not want to see the Esks tie with us for points in the standings, I couldn't help but pull for Mike Reilly and thereby the Esks. It took awhile but he lit up the fourth quarter capping it with a rushing TD. He scrambled, he ran, he tackled and blocked. The Warrior returned. Welcome back Michael - you are pure joy to watch. But will you puhleasssseeeeee learn to slide instead of leading with your head!!!

Double-header tomorrow as the Calgary Stampders play host to Ricky Ray and the Argos. I am waiting for Rickie to finally have a break-out game............somehow, I don't think this will be it. Next the Bombers travel to Lotus Land to watch Kevin Glenn once again lead the mighty Lions to battle. Go Bombers.

I was quite joyfully eating crow for the entire first half of the TO vs Calgary game as the Argonauts came out firing and racked up a score of 29 to 10 at half-time. Ricky threw for three TDs and 0 interceptions. He was smokin' hot and were it not for drops by a couple of his receivers, his completion record would be higher. The Argo D was good enough to prevent Calgary from reaching the end zone until late in the 2nd and STs limited any big returns. It was looking pretty sweet for the guys from the East and this after Brazill - who later redeemed himself - fumbled the opening punt return resulting in Calgary putting a 3 point FG on the board. The Stamps managed a TD just before the half ended but were still down by 19 points.

Calgary opened the 3rd with a holding penalty and an unnecessary roughness penalty on the first play then followed that by yet another holding penalty which saw Rob Maver punting a 71 yarder out of his end zone that surprised even the TO returner. TO would put 3 on the board on their drive extending the lead to 22 points. Those would be the last points scored by the visitors as the Jon Cornish show got underway.

I had to laugh at Rod Black when he stated that 'records were the furthest thing from Jon's mind right now'. He obviously doesn't know much about Jon. Records may not occupy all of his thoughts but they are definitely there as he showed tonight when he rushed for a 79-yard TD following that with one later that was 30 yards out...........and a two-point convert catch. He was over 100 yards on the night - again. His 79-yard run was the spark that lit the Stamps as they never looked back.

The Argos hurt their chances time and again with stupid costly penalties, many that gifted the Stamps with credible yards. A TO roughing the passer penalty gave the Stamps another three tries at the end zone for a 2 point convert - which was good. The penalties left them too often in the shadows of their own goal posts, no effective way of moving forward and having to punt from the end zone leaving Calgary with good field position.

Bo Levi left the game with an ankle injury late in the 4th quarter but Tate's transition was seamless.

The Stamps by winning this game accomplished one of the best come-backs in the history of the team but they paid the price in losing Hughes, D'Aquilar, McDaniel, Bolden and Bo Levi for the game at least.

Probably one of the better games I've watched this year - nice to see the offense rule the field.

Final score: 40 to 33

Watching Winnipeg in BC. Bad month for QBs. Drew Willy was just taken off the field with a shoulder injury.

Great game tonight between the Ti-Cats and the Argos - exciting way to open the Thanksgiving weekend. Hamilton owned the first half but the Argos - thanks to Ricky Ray battled back late - very late in the final quarter to eek out a 1 point lead that resulted in a win for the home team. The game actually saw a record set for the most number of penalties - both teams were tagged with 8 in the first half alone - it was just nuts.

Ricky Ray threw for over 400 yards and 3 TDs - Go RR!! - while Zach Collaros threw for over 300 hundred and 2 TDs of his own - both QBs ran in one of the TDs.

After having a solid lead going into the second half, Hamilton saw it slowly whittled away until the final minutes of the 4th when any chance of a win was dust in the wind as Ricky connected with Chad Owens for a fabulous 69 yard pass and run to the end zone that put the Argos ahead by 1. On 3 and 10 with Hamilton needing a point to tie and a FG to win, the center snapped the ball to the right of Zach who was forced to scramble after the ball while chased by what seemed like every TO defender who brought him to the ground just as the final second on the clock ticked past. As the ref blew the final whistle the camera zoomed in on Zach as he sat legs splayed apart, head down and shoulders slumped on the field. A perfect picture of absolute dejection but in the aftermath he will realize that without him the team would not have come so close to first and settling for a tie for top spot has it owns rewards.

One of the gutsiest calls of the game was a 3 and 10 play just before the 3 minute mark and it was critical to the outcome of the game. I really credit Scott and his crew for putting that much faith in their guys and I have a lot of admiration for the TO offense when they came through with the first down. Well done Toronto.

Great game by both teams oh and the final score was TO 34 - HAM 33.

Tomorrow the Redblacks are in BC to play the Lions. Game time on TSN is 7PM PST/10PM EST.

Go Redblacks. Saw that wood.

The 2014 CFL season will come to a close next Sunday at BC Place when the Calgary Stampeders will play the Hamilton Ti-Cats for the Grey Cup.

Both teams dominated their opponents with Hamilton putting up 40 points to the Al's 24 while the Stamps humbled the Eskimos 43 to 18.

Looks like it will be good match between two well-rounded teams able to defend and advance the ball.

There will be no home-field advantage for either team as they will be playing in 'neutral' territory as it were. Crowd noise should not be a factor.

Watching Mike Reilly being taken off the field in the first aid cart I could not help but wonder about the decision that put him in the game against the Riders. He was obviously not 100% at any point in this game and by the time he was taken out, he could barely walk on his own.

Congratulations to the Hamilton Tiger Cats and the Calgary Stampeders.
