I am ALL FOR THEM!

I was nicotine addicted and it sucked to break it. So freaking hard.

Anyone who tries to ban vapor cigs or people using them publicly is a F*ing a-hole. It may save tens of thousands of lives.

I read an article from a Doc that said we should not try to discourage the use of these or ban them in restaurants. I was at a pub and the guy at the bar was using one. It was not a big deal at all. A curiosity factor at most.

Agreed. The first time I saw one I thought man the guy is smoking on subway. But after I did not smell it, I realized it was e-cig. No big deal. Some people just like getting their panties in a knot.

No kidding. The only reason they would want to make them stop is because they can and they're d***s. Eating an Italian Sub on a subway is more offensive.

The stupid reason I heard was that it was encouraging kids to start smoking and was a gateway drug. I about fell off the chair laughing at the stupidity.

Indifferent. The 'smoke' seems to be harmless so I don't see the problem. If the public is annoyed - oh well. Its almost impossible to not be annoyed by one thing or another when you go out in public. That doesn't mean that whatever that thing is should be banned.

Darn you for making me allow compassion and caring for others be part of the equation. There, I just sold it to a cracker for nothing.

I never got that line either. Both of my parents and a few of my grandparents were chain smokers. Seeing that growing up actually made smoking repulsive to me. Ive never smoked (at least not tobacco) before.

Think of the children.

Or the adults acting like children.

The US Library of Medicine, Nation Institutes of Health; Have finally published the study on the effect of e-cigarette vapor and cigarette smoke on indoor air quality.

The National Center for Biotechnology Information

Comparison of the effects of e-cigarette vapor and cigarette smoke on indoor air quality.

Abstract

CONTEXT:

Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) have earned considerable attention recently as an alternative to smoking tobacco, but uncertainties about their impact on health and indoor air quality have resulted in proposals for bans on indoor e-cigarette use.

OBJECTIVE:

To assess potential health impacts relating to the use of e-cigarettes, a series of studies were conducted using e-cigarettes and standard tobacco cigarettes.

METHODS AND MATERIALS:

Four different high nicotine e-liquids were vaporized in two sets of experiments by generic 2-piece e-cigarettes to collect emissions and assess indoor air concentrations of common tobacco smoke by products. Tobacco cigarette smoke tests were conducted for comparison.

RESULTS:

Comparisons of pollutant concentrations were made between e-cigarette vapor and tobacco smoke samples. Pollutants included VOCs, carbonyls, PAHs, nicotine, TSNAs, and glycols. From these results, risk analyses were conducted based on dilution into a 40 m³ room and standard toxicological data. Non-cancer risk analysis revealed "No Significant Risk" of harm to human health for vapor samples from e-liquids (A-D). In contrast, for tobacco smoke most findings markedly exceeded risk limits indicating a condition of "Significant Risk" of harm to human health. With regard to cancer risk analysis, no vapor sample from e-liquids A-D exceeded the risk limit for either children or adults. The tobacco smoke sample approached the risk limits for adult exposure.

CONCLUSIONS:

For all byproducts measured, electronic cigarettes produce very small exposures relative to tobacco cigarettes. The study indicates no apparent risk to human health from e-cigarette emissions based on the compounds analyzed.

My neighbor is 79 years old. He smoked since he was in his pre-teens. On average he smoked three packs a day. He quit cold turkey using e-cigarettes and has not had a real one in over two years.

So if you put your cigarette in a test-tube and fed it air at the rate a small aquarium pump produces abd the exhail went into a smokeless thingy that would purify the air as it exited the very inexpensive device, even cheaper by the dozen. Nobody would care either. Somebody light up the ait is a bit stale and down on 02 by 1/3 of 1%, no wonder everybody is bitchy.
