Brian Whitaker, the Middle East editor for The Guardian newspaper at the time, wrote in a public email debate with Carmon in 2003, that his problem with MEMRI was that it "poses as a research institute when it's basically a propaganda operation".

Norman Finkelstein has described MEMRI as "a main arm of Israeli propaganda".In 2006, Finkelstein accused MEMRI of editing a television interview he gave in Lebanon in order to falsely impute that he was a Holocaust denier.

In Focus in 2007, he said MEMRI uses "the same sort of propaganda techniques as the Nazis" and "take things out of context in order to do personal and political harm to people they don't like".[42]

Yeah, MEMRI is not a research institute.........that is really quite a silly claim. But what is does is give you a translation of what is being said and done in Arabic, by Hamas.......there is no comment, no propaganda, just the plain unvarnished truth from the mouths of the wicked. And yes, brainwashing children to Jew hatred, war, and suicide is evil.

Norman Finkelstein is a screaming lunatic. End of story.

WHAT POSSIBLE CONTEXT CAN THERE BE TO AN ARABIC MICKEY MOUSE PREACHING JIHAD TO 9 YEAR OLD KIDS??

Like I said, Norman Finkelstein is a screaming lunatic

If they break the blockade, Gaza wins. The blockade is the Genocide.

Hamas has issued instructions to all people within Gaza using social media on how to misreport casualty numbers.

If anything the casualty figures have been underreported. Israel's destruction of Gaza infrastructure.. power plants.. and water treatment and hospital facilities that rely on them.. and its blockade of essential provisions means hundreds and thousands will die 'off the media grid'.. through disease, hunger, lack of medical treatment.

Israel has become an outlaw nation run by racist gangsters. No country survives on these principles.. God will turn against its criminality.. through a coalition of moral forces that always gathers in the face of rampant Evil.

'Israel' has nothing to do with Prophetic Biblical construct that would precede an era of divine justice and peace. It is 'Zion', the warlike assembly of Jewish Tribes in the thousand years before Christ.. that went through cycles of savage conquest, expulsion and enslavement.. and is following the same path.

Israeli Army Summarily Executed Fleeing Civilians In Southern Gaza

If the Zionist blockade is broken in Gaza it will fall the world over. That would be authentic New World Order.

I expect them to dismantle settlements in the West Bank and cede control to a State of Palestine, duly recognized, with open borders to allow commerce to develop in Gaza and West Bank.

That is the ONLY path to peace... and Israel has NO intention of doing any of it. Which will ultimately put its own existence in imminent peril. It has managed to alienate the rest of the World by its arrogance and cruelty.

It has one narrow franchise left.. in the Political class of America (and their lapdogs like Harper), but without any passionate and reliable support amongst the broader electorate.

This has nothing to do with 'rockets'. Israel does not understand that the forces of history are coalescing against it. And those will spiral into a chaos that it will not be able to control.

Why a ceasefire now?

While the Israeli military has once again inflicted unspeakable death and destruction on Gaza, it did not achieve victory, as evidenced by the disarray today inside the Israeli political establishment over the announcement that Israel troops were being withdrawn. A military spokesperson announced that it had “achieved its objective” by destroying 32 military tunnels.

Extreme right wing politicians howled about “not finishing the job.” Typical was Uzi Landau, tourism minister from the Yisrael Beiteinu party, who said “the operation ended with no achievement that ensures quiet.”

The real objective – destroying the Palestinian resistance forces in Gaza – was clearly not achieved.

There were several factors that brought pressure on Israel to claim “success,” announce it was withdrawing its troops, and seek a ceasefire.

1) Failure to achieve military victory, significant army casualties killed and wounded, and the prospects of a protracted and debilitating campaign.

2) Intensifying clashes in the West Bank with at least 10 Palestinians killed and hundreds wounded in protests supporting Gaza. On Aug. 4, one Israeli was killed and soldier wounded in attacks in Jerusalem. The Israeli government feared that continuation of the assault on Gaza could lead to a new intifada or uprising in the West Bank, and possibly extending to the Palestinian population inside the 1948 borders of Israel.

3) Israel’s rapidly deepening international isolation, with many governments condemning the Gaza operation and withdrawing ambassadors, and a worldwide protest movement that brought millions of people into the streets of countries around the world.

4) Growing criticism by the U.S. government, Israel’s principal funder, armor and protector, of Israel’s blatant attacks on civilians. While the U.S. continued its political and military support – including an emergency re-supply of ammunition – the Obama administration was increasingly concerned about being so closely identified with the Israel’s terror campaign, and the prospect of new mass upheavals in the region. In an unusually strong criticism, on August 4 White House spokesperson Josh Earnest described the latest Israeli shelling of a UN school housing 3,000 refugees as “appalling” and “disgraceful,” labels usually reserved for enemy governments.“Terror carried out by a Terrorist State”. This has nothing to do with 'rockets'. Israel does not understand that the forces of history are coalescing against it. And those will spiral into a chaos that it will not be able to control.

To do so, they would have to negotiate with Hamas, who has sworn not only to destroy Israel totally, but has indicated its desire to murder all Jews.

Ehud Barak offered the Palestinians a state, not a perfect state, but a start. Yassir Arafat and Fatah spat in his face, and launched the second intifada, mostly to cover up Fatah's corruption.

Israel abandoned Gaza in 2005 (BEFORE Hamas took power), hoping to inspire peace. They forcibly took all Jewish settlers from Gaza, and left thousands of greenhouses as a peace offering. They also dismantled 5 settlements in the West Bank, and let it be known that if the Gaza model was a success, the same could be done in the West Bank.

What did they get?? Instant launching ground for attacks into Israel, genocidal Hamas elected, war and terror.

Fvck'em

The Palestinian leadership is simply NOT interested in peace. Full stop.

If the people are interested in peace, they must replace their leaders.

What you propose is a solution, except Israel has no one to negotiate with. Unilaterally, it is not a solution, it is surrender.

So, what Israel MUST do, what it has a responsibility to do, is defend its people against attack. What Palestine gets is war.

It is what THEY choose.

And we get the choice between an open liberal democracy and a genocidal terrorist tyranny.

What kind of an idiot backs the tyranny??
