Why use weed spray? Wouldn't it make more sense to use machinery that uproots it (seeds and all) and burns it?
Here in Gopherland we had difficulty with a type of seaweed that infected our lakes. They tried using spray but it wasn't entirely effective. Then they used machines that scooped the weeds completely out of the water and it worked far better. Seems like a better system for hogweed, one would think.

That's what the government used here to rid the place of free growing cannabis (shame on the govt for doing so!). If any seeds were left over on the ground a limited amount of fires were burned to kill them off. Rather than do that with cannabis, the government should do so with hogweed where it exists.
