Chick-fil-A comes to Canada

CALGARY — A controversial U.S. fast food franchise has set up shop in Calgary.
Chick-fil-A opened Tuesday at the departures level of the Calgary International Airport, outside of the Delta and WestJet ticket counter, said Cheryl ****, senior director of operations for licensing.
It's currently the only location open in Canada, though not the first to ever come to the country.
"We were in Canada before in 1995 and learned a lot through that experience, but we weren't open very long and now we have an opportunity to work with our business partner HMSHost and open this new location," she said.
"It's a great opportunity for us to introduce the brand, the food, our service, to Calgarians.”
The franchise — famous for chicken sandwiches, waffle fries and being closed on Sundays — came under fire after its president publicly opposed gay marriage in 2012.
When asked if the company is worried about how it will be perceived while operating in Canada, a country that supports gay marriage, Chick-fil-A spokeswoman Brenda Morrow said it will be a welcoming place.
"As a restaurant company, we are just really focused on the food service and the hospitality and so we are going to strive to make it a welcoming place for everyone that wants a great meal," Morrow said.
The airport location will be closed Sundays.

The old ways are gone why would they not be open on Sunday for the traveling public?
One persons opinion on an issue doesn't make me buy or not buy but when I travel and
they don't open for business I tend to support those who do.
If we knew the opinions of everyone we likely would never leave our house as it were.
In politics I do pay attention to those with different views and if they are views I can't support
I park my vote elsewhere. Stick to feeding the public and be open when people are traveling

They have a Montana's for "the old ways" and it's open Sunday.

If that's not you fare go buy a remote control helicopter from the multi level marketing Israeli slave labour /illegal aliens and buzz the smokers on the north east side.

....because the man that owns them believes working on sunday is a sin. Therefore he will not force his employees to do so.

Quite seriously, when did you ever hear or read a reference to the owner's hatred for "fags"?????

Chapter and verse please.

You have google and you know the story of this gentleman's beliefs so he may not actually 'hate fags' but I'm sure he thinks they are going to hell. I don't see a difference. Religion is based on conformity or you will suffer for eternity. I call that hate.

If you want quotes of chapter and verse on hatred try here or here or even here.

Do you believe there is a hell? If not, then anyone telling you that you are going to this "hell" should mean nothing to you.

So, it's yet another fast food joint. Big whoop.

It's a big deal because the owner has his own opinions and made the mistake of actually voicing those opinions. You can't be doing that sort of thing these days.

The only personal opinion of an owner that would affect where I choose to eat would be a positive opinion towards cannibalism. No soylent green for this gal. Other than that, I pretty much make my choices based on the food. I've looked at their menu, nothing's rocking my world there.

You can't see the difference between hatred and belief in "love the sinner, hate the sin"???

The owner hates fags.

.

If, by your own admission, the man does NOT "hate fags" then your question is irrelevant.

BTW, here is his "hatred"

“I think the time of truths and principles are captured and codified in God’s word and I’m just personally committed to that,” he said. “I know others feel very different from that and I respect their opinion and I hope that they would be respectful of mine.”

The truth is YOU could take a few lessons in tolerance from Mr. Cathy.
