So can you point to where Jesus condemned Gnosticism and other religious practices? We are all involved in the discussion, Cliffy, and every voice, every opinion matters : )
Still others adhered to mystery religions such as Gnosticism, which the Lord Jesus also condemned."
Leadership :: Dealing With Syncretism in the Church - Rev. Noumba Benjamin Mbock ::Full Gospel Mission Cameroon
I was accused one time of being an expert on the new age. I'm not but I know a thing or two about it and I can unequivocally say that I have witnessed evangelical Christians adapt more and more of what they accuse the so called new age of practicing - laying on of hands is one, personality worship/idolatry, etc. I stopped paying much attention to it a long time ago because of the absurdity of the evangelical movement. I try to live my life according to the teachings of Jesus but I would never call myself a Christian because the evangelical/literalists movements has made a mockery of them.Cliffy, these are the words of a pastor/teacher at Full Gospel Mission in Cameroon, Africa. They are his words to support/defend. I include them in the discussion because my online research concerning religious syncretism frequently references contemporary Africa. According to N. B. Mbock, modern Cameroon syncretizes animism, eastern religions and New Age philosophy.

Healing touch came from the new age movement.I lay on hands all the time because I am a nurse, Cliffy : )
Healing touch came from the new age movement.
So they say. So have I. I have practiced foot reflexology, massage therapy, reiki and spiritual healing for decades.Jesus touched people (including those considered untouchable) during his incarnation.
Yes.Have you investigated Gnostic Christianity?
