Internet lawyer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He doesn't even understand simple concepts, like the difference between lying and not responding truthfully to stuff he considers no one else's business.

Yeah, discuss, not ram your half baked ideas down other people's throats?

That is actually the definition of a lie.

I provided examples there that run the gamut from more personal to very public. What do you think about him lying about things that are explicitly part of his job?

What do you think about his record of constantly voting against things that support the "underdog" and then claiming to be on their side?

As for half baked ideas, lets remember that you are the one who is still trying to deny that Ford smoked crack and has a substance abuse problem when even he freely admits it.

All my information about Ford, comes from the news as I don't live anywhere near Ontario, but you've obviously forgotten the old adage, "believe 10% of what you see and nothing of what you hear". I guess by your definition of a lie, a lie can be a good thing. Generating a conversion by lying is quite often bad, responding to a question that is not someone else's business with a lie is acceptable. As far as voting against something that would help the poor you are in very nebulous territory. The financial status of the electorate doesn't count for beans when you have a budget to adhere to. Maybe he was trying to save money for extra snow removal this winter.

P.S. I have Xmas to do, I'm done with arguing!

Lol, old adages are not rules of nature, plus, I don't really think this is what they had in mind when they said that. Sounds like it would apply to stuff like gossip, not things that are subject of a police investigation and confirmed by the person themselves.

Lying is lying, and it is hard to argue that much of what I listed off isn't our business. He works for us, so I think that how he is spending our money, how he is doing his job, and how he is representing the city is pretty obviously our business.

If you think a guy is looking out for the underdog, wouldn't you expect him to fight for them at city hall?

Your first clue is "Born Ruff" and your second clue is he hasn't improved. -:)

Mighty big words from someone who seems to be proudly ignorant of this situation yet for some reason will defend his ignorant points to the death.

You're all mixed up there, boy. My contention is I don't know enough about the man any more than you do, to condemn him. When was the last time you observed him doing any thing in person? If you didn't then you are just "whistling in the wind."

For all Ford's faults the media is generally one notch lower. -:)

All your arguments seem to be based on is an endless supply of folksy sayings, but you have absolutely no familiarity with what has actually been going on.

Why on earth would you put more weight in me saying that I saw something, than a police investigation and the guy admitting it himself?

The media are just doing their job. They have to write a lot of negative things about him because he has done and been involved in a lot of negative things.

So, we're a few days into this now.... does anyone have any idea yet what resources Ford was risking denying the people of TO?

“We are getting ready to ask the mayor to declare this an emergency largely because it will assist the staff at the province to make resources available to us — crews, generators, facilities for warming centres,” said Deputy City Manager John Livey.

It's naïve people like yourself that perpetuate the media.

Lol, you think I am the one who is high? Not the guy who still doubts that Ford smoked crack or has had numerous problems caused by his substance use?

How many U.S. Presidents do you think have smoked crack?

You're just a barrel of F**King laughs. Check out the police investigation and report on the death of Robert Dziekanski at the Vancouver Airport in October 2007.

You fail to get distinction. Ford could very well have smoked crack, but I am not going to suggest penalyzing him until I'm 99.99% sure he smoked crack. Where did the media first get their source?

Why are we getting into semantics over the issue. They obviously need crews, generators and warming facilities. Why would they have to attach a moniker to it to get the resources? If for instance I say a kid is drowning do the ambulance people wait until I tell them it's an emergency before they respond? The use of Common Sense would help you a lot, BornRuff.

What have the media reported that isn't true? Be specific.

How many U.S. Presidents do you think have smoked crack?

What does this have to do with your refusal to accept that Ford smoked crack?

You're just a barrel of F**King laughs. Check out the police investigation and report on the death of Robert Dziekanski at the Vancouver Airport in October 2007.

How on earth is that related to this case?

You fail to get distinction. Ford could very well have smoked crack, but I am not going to suggest penalyzing him until I'm 99.99% sure he smoked crack. Where did the media first get their source?

If a damn video of him smoking crack and an admission from Ford are not enough to make you accept what happened, what could?

The media first got the story from viewing the video of him smoking crack, though at this point we also have his admission, so where exactly are you seeing holes in this?

It is not a semantics issue, it is a legal issue. Declaring a state of emergency allows provincial staff to release a lot more resources and funding. The deputy city manager explains what those resources are in that quote.

His refusal meant that the Premier had to step in and work around him to get Toronto some extra help the next day. The extra resources could have been mobilized earlier if he just declared the emergency. We still may lose out on the funding that comes with a state of emergency though, so that could hit us taxpayers.

I'm through "debating" with you, you are just too thick, I've told you a dozen times I don't KNOW whether or not Ford smoked crack, it's got nothing to do with my refusal to accept it. Whatever the truth is it is but just because someone says so doesn't make it the truth. How important is it whether or not Ford smoked crack? Anyway if you keep pissing me off I'm going to turn in to someone like Gerry and I don't want to be like that. So just let go of it.

better yet, does anyone really care?

also, have to say, BornRuff has not made one personal comment or putdown yet...

it's telling
