That's Rob Fords man-Mr Free Enterprise always looking to turn a profit!

If my mayor is going to be hanging out with all of these drug dealers/gangsters, I would have hoped that he would at least be an "alpha" type figure in those interactions.

The picture painted now is of a guy who is easily pushed around by these guys. They had him under their thumb, which is scary.

The fact is the whole bloody thing is really sad. We have a man who is imploding
and no one can convince him his time has come and gone. The other sad thing is
we have people who defend or look for excuses because he is a conservative and
others who lay it on as thick as they can because he is not conservative.
Yes they've limited his powers and that had to be done or the good name of the city
would be impuned. His family it would appear is as dysfunctional as he so they are
of no help. This whole thing will get a lot worse before it gets better. We have all
made our jokes and condemnations now its time to understand this is much worse
than we first imagined and this guy needs help more than anything.

The fact is we all knew he needed help long ago and he has been given every opportunity to get it.

This is a man who went on and on about how "hug-a-thug" programs were a waste of our taxpayer money and publicly stated that he was working on a way to legally run gangsters out of town. He needs a taste of his own prescription.

Your understanding of the underworld is at best incomplete-as Mayor he shouldn't be anywhere near any of these types-someone else should be doing all the running/fetching/acquiring and paying.

As it happens he was so sozzled/drunk/drugged/stupid on dope that he forgot who he was and where he was the petty lies that had taken him so far in life were no longer adequate.

Lol, as mayor i'd hope he simply wasn't involved with these guys in the first place.

If he was going to do this kind of thing, obviously your plan would be smarter than what he wound up doing.

I'm just saying that if he was going to run around with gangsters like this, you'd think he would only do so if he thought he could control them and keep them in line. Instead they were robbing him and blowing off his weak attempts to wield his "power" against them.

JNow it's heroin, bribery and drunik driving. Unless they can iomplicate him in the murder of that gangster, or unless he's on camera sodmozing a duck, I grow weary of fat clown.

Dear Mr. Cruickshank,

You know one reason why the Ford people were able to keep calling the Star's coverage a pack of lies for so long? Because from day one, your paper selfishly, gutlessly, and above all stupidly tried to cover up the fact that Gawker had already reported the existence of the video.

You had independent corroboration, and you were too small-minded and churlish to accept it. It was more important for the Star to trumpet a fake exclusive than to make the case against a corrupt mayor.

And now you praise your paper's solitary, courageous truth-telling. You are a sanctimonious fraud.

Sincerely,

Tom Scocca

Robbie Bobbie 2 on sale Friday
By Don Peat ,City Hall Bureau Chief
First posted: Wednesday, December 18, 2013 06:30 PM EST

Just in time for Christmas.
Mayor Rob Ford’s office announced the second edition of the mayor’s bobbleheads — dubbed the Robbie Bobbie — will go on sale on Friday thanks to “popular demand.”
“I think it looks like me,” Ford said as he signed a batch of the bobbleheads Wednesday.
Ford’s office will be selling another 1,000 bobbleheads starting at noon in the City Hall rotunda. The bobbleheads will cost $20 and a one per person limit will be enforced.
The proceeds from the sale of the first edition raised $12,000 for the city’s United Way campaign. This round of bobbleheads will raise cash for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Ford said he chose the cancer charity because of his own family’s experience.

Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors

In another aspect of the Ford controversy, a number of people have angrily sent me copies of a letter that the disgraceful John Honderich -- the chair of the board of Torstar Corporation (the Star's owner) and a former Star publisher -- assumedly approved for distribution to 70 prominent Torontonians, urging them to agitate for the mayor's removal in mid-term, and taking them to task as moral outcasts of the community for not joining in the full Christmas revelry of the Star's attempted putsch.
This is simply amazing.

There is a reason that Black's writing is filed under "comment"(aka opinion). He is far from an unbiased arbiter. The guy has an ax to grind with half the people in the universe and is not exactly known for his humility.

In fairness that also describes the usual suspects here who regularly stand up on their strong hind legs to defend Tubby Ford.

Now about that phony video.....

I am not just referencing someone else who is critical of Ford when making my arguments.

What phony video? The one Ford already admitted exists?
