Weed is less harmful and widely available. Everyone has been offered weed by a friend so they can empathize a lot more. Something like crack is a lot more disturbing, especially when he explains it by saying that he was in a "drunken stupor".
I don't see any posts from you complaining about Ford smoking weed back from when he admitted it, so why are you worried about it now?
Again, if he is good at his job or not is very subjective. The question was if his behavior was an issue until recently, and the fact is that council has been sidetracked by issues around his behavior in all 4 of the councils that he has been a part of, including under the conservative mayor Mel Lastman.

You seem to think that individual indiscretions by other people somehow deflect from the clear pattern of problems and vast list of bad things that the Mayor has done, but any objective observer can see that there is a difference.
Ford drinking and driving that one time in Florida can easily be seen as a mistake. Ford having repeated incidents spanning well over a decade caused by his alcohol consumption isn't a mistake, it is a problem.
