There is no ambiguity in his case about whether it was crack or pot.

And a mayor is usually held to a higher moral standard than a sitting MP.

Are we done with the false equivalences now Bear?

When Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau this summer admitted he’d smoked weed a few times in the past — setting the precedent for other politicians, including Ford, to admit that they’d smoked it too — and announced he supported not just the decriminalization but the legalization of possessing small amounts of marijuana, it was to considerable approbation and even where there was upset, it was mild.

This is a pretty ludicrous comparison. Justin Trudeau admitted, when asked by a reporter that he has tried a drug that about half of all Canadians have tried. Rob Ford made no such admission. Even now, the most he has managed is to apologize for not being perfect. Justin Trudeau was forthcoming on the issue, Rob Ford was not.

Also crack and weed are two very different drugs. And Justin Trudeua is not running with gangbangers.

Also, Ford is not the victim here. He is most certainly the author of his own misfortune.

Hmmm, choices choices, I could mock you for your hypocrisy, which I always enjoy.

Or I can ask, pot v crack, which one makes for better headlines.

Or I can point out a small matter of a long history of pot use on Fords part, use a little critical thought and come up with what is more likely in the pipe.

But I actually don't care about Justin's drug use, or Fords. So I won't be a hypocrite like you.

And according to you, Der Star is infallible, so there's no way you'll be able to be objective enough to see why crack would beat pot, for a headline.

And of course with the level of bias and lack objectivity you have succumb to, there's no way you'll be using any critical thought anytime soon.

So I think all I'm left with is...

lolz!

When asked about pot consumption...

"Oh yeah, I won't deny that. I've smoked a lot of it,"

Rob Ford

Please stop embarrassing yourself Zipper.

And I don't think you've seen a whole lot of media coverage on what an outrage it is that Rob Ford smoked pot. Most people don't care, which is why your comparison to Trudeau is silly. Reasonable people know that there is a big difference between pot and crack. And reasonable know that the mayor of a large city shouldn't be running with gangsters.

No it's not.

Unless you want to get into moral relativism, which is a whole other can of crack pipes.

Reasonable people know that there is a big difference between pot and crack.
There's no proof he smoked crack, lol. Stop embarrassing yourself.

At best, Lisi is a hood, but I do agree. I don't care, but I do agree.

Well, if someone is going to make an issue out of one politician's suspected drug use, it would only make sense to maintain a level "playing field" by bringing up another politician's confirmed drug use.....................don't you think? -:)

Yes, it certainly would

You too dense to notice the hypocrisy of those that are demanding Ford resign for alleged drug use but supporting Jus-in's admitted drug use.

If I were you I would first point out where I've demanded Ford's resignation before I labeled me dense.

I think more people care in Canada care about political figures smoking crack than smoking pot. And a mayor who is running with gangbangers. There's no proof that Ford smoked crack. Likely there never will be. But Ford hasn't really come clean on the issue, there's no doubt about that.

There'sNobody has really said much about Ford's pot use. It's a silly comparison to Trudeau. Under the heading of "But...But....But...THE LIBERALS."

But it's alright for the mayor of a small city? Actually a link to "running with gangsters" might help. Mayors at times have to interact with all members of society without prejudice. I've already cited an instance where a mayor may have to converse with a member of Hell's
Angels over a utility matter. Another turkey on here mentioned something about "cavorting with gangsters." -:)

I know how hard that is for you to understand, you seem hell bent on making a fool of yourself.

And a mayor who is running with gangbangers.
Ya, we already addressed that.

Yes he did, he said there is no video of him smoking crack.

No it isn't. They're attacking the use of a controlled substance. Of which pot is.

Under the heading of "But...But....But...THE LIBERALS."
I didn't say anything about the Liberals. I have however mentioned the elitists, hypocrites and shills.

The main topic of my posts is ethics in politics. Sorry you misinterpreted what was posted.

As you seem to move goal posts I thought I should remind you, again.

Again, my issue is not what Ford has or hasn't done. I don't follow TO politics. I'm simply pointing out that people say they don't care what Ford does or who he associates with because they like his politics. That is putting money ahead of ethics and integrity. It is not much different than people excusing Ralph's treatment of the people at the homeless shelter just because "he did what he said he would do".

Ever expanding. As you seem to move goal posts I thought I should remind you, again.

Yes, if you don't care that your political leaders are cavorting with the criminal element. As I alluded to earlier, many people in Germany during the 30's look the other way because Germany was improving financially. If people in Toronto value a dollar over ethics, all the power to them. I'm just glad I don't live there. I see TO becoming the next Kweebeck

Ever expanding, including Germany- This is a world wide OP I see. As you seem to move goal posts I thought I should remind you, again and again.

If, after this latest hullabaloo, torstar and/or gawker still can't manage to buy the original (and how many subsequent copies that would have been made for profit and blackmail) video that was offered of Mayor Ford actually smoking crack, then it doesn't friggin' exist.

It would be all over reddit, liveleak and youtube fools. I don't care what officer billy blair says or not.

Now, if it's a video of some vague horsing around or other Ford antics...that's another story.

But it's alright for the mayor of a small city?

Yeah, nobody much cares what the mayors of small towns get up to. Some of them are pretty crazy.

To equate what Ford's been up to with Trudeau's admission that he smoked pot is simply silly. To equate Lastman caught shaking some Hell's Angels hand with running with gangsters is simply silly. And to try to paint Rob Ford as a victim when it is clear that he, and he himself, has put himself in this situation--not the media, nothe liberals--is simply silly.

Conservatives are supposed to have an ethos of personal responsibility, but more and more these days, they seem to be having this big pity parade about how the big bad liberals are picking on them all the time. It gets a little tiresome.
