I've read a lot of Tonington's posts and I don't see a lack of substance. Political Nick's on the other hand--still trying to work out the thermodynamics of his fridge.

Plus you're of the same opinion as Tonn. That helps.

Yes, the fact that most people who think the same way as Tonington also have significant scietnific and technical backgrtounds should be telling you something.

lol. Roger that.

And should anything about your post tell me something?

At any rate... is he a Climate Scientist?

Yes it tells me that tontington wants me to give up my car well he keeps his.
He also wants me to pay more taxes, well he continues to get funding from those tax dollars, absurd.

Interestingly enough you can produce and dump as much CO2 into the atmosphere as long as you pay. It seems that paying off the right people saves the planet from warming.

Yep, had a refrigeration ticket since 1996 but have no idea how a fridge works! :p

Scientists are just like engineers and architects. If it works on paper it must work in the real world.

By substance, I mean proof - comprehensive proof.

If that does indeed exist, then the debate is closed..... But as we presently see, there is no conclusive 'proof', just a 95% likelihood from a lobby group.

Yea a lobby group that is taxpayer funded, of course their answer is more taxes, and more funding.
Its all for the children you know. My children.

How is that related to the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere?

Your point seems to be "the policy remedies offered up are too socialist for me, therefore I refute the science."

Not really Spock-ish logic is it?

Yeah, and yet you don't know what happenes to the temperature in a room when you open the fridge door. Not buying it.

I'm sure you're off to Google now to find the right answer.

Eh? Nothing. The "cold coming out" of the fridge (which is actually heat going in) is exactly compensated by the extra heat "generated" (i.e., moved) by the cooling system. The only way the temperature in the room could be changed is if the radiator was outside the room, as in air conditioning.

What's hard about that?

Well it would depend on the size of the room and the setting of the fridge. Then of course you would have to allow for the temperature of the room and is a heating/cooling system active and where is it set. Then there is the outside ambient temperature and how is the room insulated. Is it on the north or south side? The size and layout of the room will be a factor, is it an open floorplan. Add in some variables like windows open or closed and how far they are open and maybe heavy drapes and are they open or closed. If they are open is there a wind chill and how much.

You see Zipperhead, it isn't just cut and dry that the room will get colder if you leave the fridge open. Just like it isn't cut and dry about AGW. Next time you want to make some banal, nonsensical remark about a subject you obviously have no clue about I suggest you stop, take a deep breath, and hold it to a count of 7 billion.

Open the door to a fridge and the room will warm up, all other things being equal. Sorry you fail. Next time you should take into account your ignorance on the subject prior to weighing in.
