Limbaugh has boycotted MSNBc for the past 12 months and has not allowed his staff to play any MSNBC clips on his show. Since Limbaugh has taken this stance MSNBC ratings are down 50%. Must be a coincidence.

In media the more you grow in new listeners and over all numbers the more the
revenue comes in. If you lose listeners steadily you lose your time slot and with
it the profit margin you need. Limbaugh is likely closing in on the end of shelf life.
Numbers down revenue down and no new folks coming in to fill the listener pool.
The company will not endure another year of this or the president of the company
will be gone. In my days of radio I won some listener polling and lost some and it
didn't take long for the vultures to turn on you it is the life and breathe of radio.

For those doing a little union bashing. High wage rates are good it shows the
union negotiators are doing a good job getting the most they can for their shareholders
the (union members) as the company is striving to get the most for their
shareholders. In short it cuts both ways.
As for Limbaugh and boycotts. Well its not the evil Limbaugh that has caused
the problem nor is it the boycotts. People want to be entertained not informed.
CNN and other networks are adding feature programming cause news audiences
want something different. Like CMT has comedy shows on now because the
music network featuring music doesn't appeal to music audiences anymore.
People want what they want when they want it. As soon as we change they will
cry that there is not enough news. The world is changing from advertising as
well as people turn to various on line ad campaigns the pie is being sliced
thinner. Also the Sharpton's and the Limbaugh's have divided the people enough
a new generation wants new blood on the airwave but that is only a small
part of it.
