The ESTIMATED TOTATL COSTS OF MARIJUANA ENFORCEMENT IN CANADA are over two billion dollars a year. YOur tax dollars flushed down the drain, Durry.
Full; forgiveness as you are 'doing the Lords' work, so to speak. The cost of enforcing soft drug laws in Canada is horrendous.
Interesting discussion this one, I am listening to the local open line show in Kelowna BC
This is a conservative riding with the largest population segment being seniors. We have
a university here as well. What I am hearing is most of the calls even from seniors
are in favor of changing the pot laws and most though they don't like an MP admitting
he smoked it they appreciate his honesty.
Trudeau will gain from his actions. The Canadian Government is now behind the curve.
America once warned against legalizing pot and now many States are changing their
mind and here we are building white elephants (prisons to house pot smokers) and the
stuff will be legal within a decade regardless of who is in power.
We are arguing about something that has already had its fate decided. While I am not a
Trudeau fan I think he lit the fuse on an issue that will benefit him in the long run.

I don't care who took drugs. I'd say most everyone has to some extent.
LSD, hash and weed in my own case. But...if the shiny pony (or you) feel the need to still use them at our ages, especially for vote-whoaring, or to 'feel good' or 'relax' then you're an arsehole and I hope you step on a Lego. I don't 'relate' to you, 'feel you', think that you're 'like me' or that I can identify with you. I wouldn't have given my vote to a weak lame liberal like him regardless of whether he 'came out' and told us the 'truth'. I'm not easily impressed.

Charges for possession have increased by 41% since Harper took office. Of those how many were convicted and what did it cost us in lost patrol time for cops, court costs etc?
51% of fuddy-duddys want it legalized.
I'd like to see it legalized, but I wouldn't put it on my top ten list. RFrankly, Harper could use a toke. You couldn't get a pin up that guy's azz with a jackhammer.
Ummmmmmmmmmmm!! I think the issue is not so much about marijuana as it is to free up law enforcement to spend more time on crimes resulting in real harm and taking the profit for criminals out of it.
I wouldn't argue that it's not the brightest thing to be doing, but in real terms I doubt if one toke does any more harm than a bottle of pop.
Come on Durry, use your noggin for something besides a hat rack! In all the years I've looked at help wanted ads I have yet to see ONE where the duties include "obeying the law".
