I wasn't condoning the deal. I was just commenting of the zeitgiest of the times.. and the hypocrisy of excusing behaviour if it falls under the aegis of an officially designated 'victim' group.
"zeitgiest of the times" might be a bit oversaid since "zeitgeist" by itself means spirit of the times.
So what would Jesus do? Quote chapter and Verse. don't waffle on this one...
Jesus would forgive.. provided she fully Confesses her sin.. makes a good Act of Contrition..sais an Our Father and 10 Hail Mary's.. AND casts off and repudiates her homosexuality and commits herself not to sin again. That's not scripture but it is dogma, backed by scripture.
The problem is she thinks she's done absolutely nothing wrong.. and she has an entire social movement with all of its political and judicial tentacles who are supporting her in this self delusion (not to mention her parents).
It's difficult to redeem yourself if you refuse to see the error of your ways.

No sacrament of the Catholic Church is promulgated without exhaustive reference and justification through Scripture. In fact nothing it puts out isn't done as such. Read Francis's first encyclical on Faith (really written by B16 prior to his retirement).. the Church never deems itself an originator.. simply extrapolator and proselytizer of Truth.

(Matthew 5:25). It seems that no one loves to go to court more than legalists. The Pharisees were the ones who loved the nit picky rules. They loved to go to court. We sometimes hear people say, “I’ll see you in court!” Jesus says, “On your way to court, you’d better settle up quickly.” I have never seen a court of law solve a problem of the heart. Going to court doesn’t facilitate reconciliation

If I recollect right, Leviticus 26:31 says. . .
And if a woman shall lie with another woman, thou shalt make sure to get it on thy smartphone.
THAT passage says nothing abut Lesbianism. It does not demand a 'judicial circus ' for a private affair between female teens.
'Helping Jesus out' is not scriptural.

Jesus does condemn adultery, which is what Romans refers to.

A medieval theologian would have not had the 'Moral Relativism;' that Coldstream assumes. What constitutes an 'unnatural sexual ct' between women is not defined, in scripture, while 'homosexuality' is specifically defined as 'between men."
WHY is a long argument. Suffice to say, that is how it is written. Copulating with a bull mastiff is forbidden in Scripture for women. As is sex outside of marriage, or adultery.

Are we to assume that in the states they do not have a proximity in age law like Canada? If she was 17 it is OK but 18 is a nono?
