As far as i can tell the Russian Law does not persecute homosexuality. It outlaws the dessemination of homosexual propaganda and paraphenalia to children. If this law had been more generally phrased as to make the distribution of all sexually explicit promotion to children illegal it wouldn't have created a stir. But since it singled out homosexuality its been deemed a 'hate law'.
In the West now it has become common to encourage homosexual dalliance and experimentation amongst children (to explore their 'orientation' :roll
.. regardless of how injurious this would be to young people desperately trying to establish a mature sexual identity.. consistent with the adult responsibilties of forming a family.
Of course homosexuality completely sabotages that.. inculcating a sexual ethos of prurient gratification, exploitation of others, stunted sexual maturity, fantasy ridden excess, abandonment to unresolved infantile fixations, isolation and alienation from society in general.. and a life of misery, disease, disgrace, profound loneliness and an inability to form adult relationships.
Only in the West... which has fallen so precipitously from reason and understanding of the centrality of family to a healthy constructive society.. would this appear to be 'hate'.. rather than protection for children from falling into a condition utterly inconsistent with fulfillment, grace or happiness in life.
The homosexual lifestyle is pathologically in need of constant new stimuli.. new victims.. since it is so radically unhappy and dissatisfied by nature. The grooming of a 'new crop' homosexuals is essential to sustain its culture. That's why getting them 'while they are young' is so important.
I think Russia is just acting responsibly towards it children and its society.. something we in the West have given up on.. at least in government and education.
