The minute Canada cleans up its own back yard, I might tale them seriously.

Are we as bad as Zimbabwe? Or Mexico? Or Russia? Or China? Odd that we are that high on the UN list, did you call them? How do we clean up the backyard? Please explain it, perhaps your system would be as successful as you are.

No, we're not as bad as they are, and that's why we should not accept criticism, advice or ideas from anyone. The status quo and mediocirty is the wve of the future as long as we're not quite as bad.

But we're not mediocre... We are, according to your logic, better than average... Just not up to your high standard.

That begs the question; where are you in demanding that Zimbabwe, Mexico, Russia and China 'clean up their act'?

Why so quiet on that front?

It's not up to any country to directly interfere in another nation's human rights. That's what the UN is for. And yes, the UN does publish criticisms of other countries. I've read some of their criticisms of Iran, and they are far more cirtical than their criticisms published concerning Canada.

Unless I'm reading you incorrectly, you're saying it should criticize only the worst nations and no one else because God forbid those who are not the worst should learn and improve from it.

The UN is a collective of nations.. That said, this 'collective' interferes all the time.

Further, if you are under the opinion that there is no political bent to the UN, then it is useless to continue any discussion on any topics that seek to analyze the motivations of that body.

Unless I'm reading you incorrectly, you're saying it should criticize only the worst nations and no one else because God forbid those who are not the worst should learn and improve from it.

You are reading me incorrectly

Perhaps we are just sick and tired of outright lies used to slam us for discrimination. If it was done reasonably and with truth i would be onboard.

Which was?

Post number 7: "We have been sited at least three times for our treatment of aboriginals and we have ignored them. We just pump out a bunch of propaganda telling the white folk how well off the indians are and how they are lazy and suck off the hind teat of society. Everybody gets all self righteous and says what a bunch of morons the UN are. Canadians can get as self righteous as any other nation, with enough beer, even more so."

Isn't it about time the Canadians gave Canada back to the people who owned it before them? You know, the people who occupied that land for a long time, long before they decided to nick it?

You know, the British.

Great, your 'point' is founded on a body that few people have any respect for.

It was French before it was British.

Was it Asian before the French?

The Canadian government?

No. People were living here before the last ice age, as long ago as 250 thousand years. The Berring land bridge theory has been disproven. people visited here for thousands of years, but none tried to take it over (unless you are a Mormon).

Just you Cliffy... The UN has world-wide disrespect from all walks of life

250,000 years.... I am certain that the archaeological world will be excited to see these various finds

A little clarification here. Assuming that they didn't sprout from the ground, did all of the existing (Canadian) FN tribes mass immigrate to Canada at that time?.. If so, I would assume that they unilaterally assumed ownership of the land?

Viking

How much do we owe for all the buffalo coats we stole?

You should be ashamed for stealing MHz.

The UN has zero credibility man.

Maybe this would make a nice homeless shelter.
