You don't know what Martin said or did. Nor do I. All of that is based on Zimmerman's testimony, because Martin can't give his side.

Martin chose to speak with violence. GZ's rebuttal was also delivered in a violent mode.

I'll leave it to cm to refute it since he said Martin was 'mere steps' from home.

But, it also doesn't look like Martin doubled back on his path to lie in wait like you said. It looks like the direct walking path route home

Nothing to refute... It really doesn't matter where he was, the reality here is that Martin was delivering a beating on Zimmerman, and based on what I've read, the optics appear that Martin jumped him.

IF this is the case, the little b*stard opened this can of worms all by himself

So self defense doesn't apply to people following you around in the night? Really, that's interesting. Because most rational people I know, would react in self defense in the scenario of a stranger following them around at 1:30 in the morning. It's not like Martin hunted Zimmerman down, it was the other way around. Why does Zimmerman have the right to hunt people down, but Martin to not turn the hunt around on him? There was NOTHING about Zimmerman to tell Martin he was safe, was in any position of authority, or was not out to do him harm.

That's what happened in this case?

A stalking crime now?!
It should have been. Did Zimmerman need to follow Martin despite being advised against it?

Which is the intent of the law.
Define "over a period of time". It took no time for Zimmerman to follow Martin? he was travelling at the speed of light? I'm impressed. He seems a fair bit overweight and not bright enough to accomplish that.

By walking home from the club and passing Zimmerman in his truck? Holy crap. If the kid wasn't dead already, I would suggest flaying, racking, covering him with honey, and leaving him tied up to an anthill.

Changing the tune man. It's all that's left.
It's another point you and Eagle can't debate or debate very well.
The whole thing could have been avoided if Martin chose a different route home or Zimmerman had decided maybe the kid isn't suspicious and is just going home.
Face it, Zimmerman pushed the issue and acted against advice from authority.

Carney Claims White House Unaware Of Death Threats Made Against George Zimmerman And His Family…

Seriously, Jay?

Via WaPo:
A high school intern with the conservative Daily Caller Web site got into a testy exchange with White House Press Secretary Jay Carney Wednesday after asking if the White House would intervene to protect George Zimmerman from death threats in the wake of his acquittal on murder and manslaughter charges.

“Because of the death threats being received by George Zimmerman and his parents, is the president going to take any action for their security or are they on their own?” Gabe Finger asked.

Carney responded that he wasn’t aware of the threats and that Florida authorities would be responsible for handling them, but that Obama opposes “any violence of any kind” in response to the verdict in the Trayvon Martin case.

I suppose that Trayvon could have attempted that defense had he killed Zimmerman.

Because most rational people I know, would react in self defense in the scenario of a stranger following them around at 1:30 in the morning.

I suppose that we'd need to know who attacked who. According to Martin's friend, Jeantel, Martin was the one that threw down.

It's not like Martin hunted Zimmerman down, it was the other way around.

How do you know this?

Well, if you're using Jeantel as your source, Zimmerman grabbed and attempted to detain Martin. So, who hunted who down?

Someone follows you around and then tries to grab you and detain you, what do you do, kiss him?

How do you know this?
Didn't you see the map and its analysis someone posted a while back?

Again, the issue could have been avoided if Zimmerman had followed the advice to stay put. He didn't and THAT makes him the initiator of the incident.

Um, stalking is illegal.
Florida's stalking laws state that stalking is considered when the stalkee feels there is a "credible threat". Law enforcement people are excluded from this designation but not neighborhood watch as there is no official permissions granted to neighborhood watch people. They are subject to laws. And this is reflected in the reason why the police prefer neighborhood watch people do not take action, and instead call the cops.
Florida's laws concerning stalking are fairly similar to the laws the RCMP enforces. This is directly from the RCMP's website: "Criminal harassment, more commonly known as STALKING, is a crime. Generally it consists of repeated conduct that is carried out over a period of time and which causes you to reasonably fear for your safety or the safety of someone known to you. Stalking does not have to result in physical injury in order to make it a crime. The law protects you even if the conduct of the stalker is not done with the intent to scare you. It is enough if the conduct does scare you. This may be an advance warning of the possibility of future violent acts."

You get real and "Pull your head out of your ****".

You can read can you not?????

"Generally it consists of repeated conduct that is carried out over a period of time and which causes you to reasonably fear for your safety."

The Florida Penal Code defines it as "willfully, maliciously and repeatedly follows"

Sigh

If GZ touched Martin, that is assault, and would remove any claim he had to self defense.

However, there is absolutely NO CREDIBLE EVIDENCE GZ did any such thing.

The TM supporters want GZ lynched purely on the basis of their imaginations, no actual evidence required.

I think there is one (and only one) lesson here..................if a man can't be proven guilty then he's NOT GUILTY! How hard is that to understand?

Not following advice is not a crime.

How hard is it to understand that no matter how the law defines it, Zimmerman's account alone is enough to see he caused the death of a teenage boy with his paranoia and vigilantism?

Only legally. But if we're talking about actual guilt, then obviously you can still be guilty of something no one can prove.

Well I'm pretty burned out arguing the fact that Trayvon Martin decided his own fate.

Likely he didn't think he was going to die that day, but when someone makes a choice that ends their life they don't take into account that it is a life and death decision.

I can't feel sympathy for this young man, he could have kept walking. He decided violence was the answer. A poor choice.

I agree. But, once again, the poor choices of a 17 year old armed with fists, hardly measure up against the poor choices of a full grown man armed with a gun. The accounts of how incredibly violent Martin were hardly hold up against the pictures of Zimmerman (I've seen people who've had their heads slammed into pavement over, and over, and over again, and they look considerably worse off than he did after his brush with death). He made a bad choice and reacted with violence in the face of a threat to his safety. Zimmerman did the same. The sad truth is that when strapping a gun on, and choosing to play cop, you had damn well better ALSO take on the responsibility to be smarter, and more responsible, than a 17 year old kid who has no idea what you're up to.

What if I told you that not finding him guilty of second degree murder doesn't change my opinion about his responsibility in the shoddy way he went about executing his 'neighbourhood watch' duties?
