And still civilly guilty of wrongful death. He killed her and it was proven outside of criminal court.

No matter how you slice it he killed Nicole and it was proven IN COURT.

Criminal and civil cases have differing standards of proof.

They are building more prisons in the USA.. Maybe in Canada, they are to keep the public safe and rehabilitation.. it's suppose to be punishment.

Sure, I'm not 100% for the death penalty.. only in certain cases.. this being on of them..

However I would like to see prisons built way up north and prisoners be put on a chain gang and given hard labor. Screw the color TV, work for your stay.. on a dam rock pile.

Nothing you referenced your decision to religion.. lol

Seriously, if you're basing your decision on religion.. watch the videos.. Bill Maher rules.

You got the right spirit, Boomer...........I don't believe most prisoners should be treated badly, you want to keep them receptable to rehabilitation, just get them to understand they made a mistake that needs correcting, BUT for this bitch you want her to agonize physically and mentally for every second of her duration in there, making things just as miserable as possible for her.

And what does that do?

He gives them baloney sandwiches only... makes them wear pink... took away all recreation equipment... plus some other good stuff.

So that would give the average person with a brain the idea that, THAT is not the place you want to be!

Eventually they will be released. If all you are looking for is punishment then society will reap the problems when they are walking free.
Beat a person down long enough and they will snap.

That makes her think about what she's done and hopefully she won't do it a second time.

Life in prison take care of that. Treating prisoners so that they endure mental and physical agony only increases the risk for handling such a prisoner.

That's where Anders Breivik lives. That's what a man who kills 92 bright youths with their lives ahead of them earns himself. That's where he sleeps comfortably every night. There are homeless people on the streets of Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto that are sleeping in freezing cold weather during the winter under bridges, store fronts..

BTW, you can see the remote next to the bed and flat screen TV far upper right.

This is the State of Arizona the only other state that has more executions is Texas...

Hmm I would have thought that'd be Florida. Then again since 2006 or thereabouts quite a few states who used to execute a lot of people suddenly stopped or slowed down. California was pretty active til around then.

Locked away, for good I presume.

He's facing a lifetime of that, and more critically, there are guards and officials who face a lifetime of having to deal with him.

So long as he is not costing tax payers an inordinate amount of money, I think it's in the interest of well being for all, that he have reasons to behave. Decent bed, a tv, comfort, that you can take away from him if he's being a threat to guards or other inmates. Keep him locked away for good, and society is safe. Personal vindictiveness doesn't need to play into how the prison is run.

For example...Capital Punishment is a punishment. It is not a deterrent for capital crimes, it is a punishment for capital crimes committed. That is why I think the argument that the death penalty does not prevent future capital crimes therefore there should not be a death penalty. That is irrelevant to what the death penalty is there for.

I'd accept that if proponents of capital punishment also stopped bringing up deterrence. Quite a few try using it in arguments to keep or bring back capital punishment - even though the numbers generally don't back it up.

I think it's deterred most of them that got it. At least in this realm!

Guilty is guilty............and beyond any shadow of a doubt he was guilty.

Sad to say, JLM........that won't happen. This killer lives in her own private delusional world. She has no remorse and in the interviews after her crime was found worthy of death, she continually lashed out at the jury and took spiteful digs at Travis and his family. The judge finally put a stop to that........much to the dismay of Sheriff Joe, I'm sure.

My fervent hope is that she will never ever be allowed to sit in front of another reporter for the rest of her entire life.
