As much as I am not a trippy hippy let's not eat the animals gal, I just can't do the turtle soup thing. Call me crazy, I just dig the little guys too much to chow down on them. :D
Yup, even though turtles eat hundreds of million of pike, pickerel trout and salmon fry which would make them well fed and "good eatin' ", I'll keep them off my plate.

I am so freaking hungry right now, I would eat a skunk..and then Petros makes me think f coffee... it's not fair.

Petros enjoys the torment. It's what I admire, and fear, the most about him. LOL.

I think turtles are awesome too. But they're just so tasty!

I get that, I really do. I don't judge people that eat them. But I just can't, lol. Maybe it's a residual childhood thing. Although I never had one as a pet, I just remember finding them fascinating.

I had one for a pet when I was young. They're hard to train. The boys rescued one that was hit by a puddle jumping snowmobile, kept it in the bath tub until they found an aquarium.

But I still eat turtle soup when we go to ceremonies and festivals. It's actually really good.

I was going to ask if it was a made up memory but then got lost in the thread... kinda chilly in here now.

I've had lots of people tell me it's very tasty, I don't doubt that it is.

We lived in a rented farmhouse for a few years when I was growing up and, as was usual for the time, the kids spent the majority of the day outdoors, lol. I can remember finding turtles down by the creek bed, and I could just watch them for hours. Which, ok, they don't move to fast so if you wanted to see them do anything, it required a few hours commitment, lol.

My son has this thing about ducks, same as I have with turtles. He 'can't' eat duck, I think duck is absolutely delicious. But I guess we just have an 'affinity' of sorts with the respective animal. I can't explain it any better than that.

I don't eat carnivores although I have tried several of them. Probably explains why I am not a big fish fan.

I have to wonder if Anne Frank had to meet some form of requirement when protecting people.

Anne Frank didn't protect anyone. She went into hiding (being protected) at 13 with her family and was killed by the Nazis shortly before her 16th birthday upon their discovery of the hidden loft.

That's probably how you ended up with that fan too, ;)

lol.

Hell, it's all about the character isn't it? Looks fade, character has longevity.
Looks are holding just fine.

Not needing a hat to avoid scalp burn and chewing meat with my own teeth are two strong bonus points.
