Scientists warn people to be alert for avalanches. In Arizona. Take that, global warming

FLAGSTAFF., Ariz -- The Coconino County Sheriff's Office is reminding back-country mountain travelers to be alert for potential avalanche hazards on the San Francisco Peaks.

Flagstaff, Arizona gets more snow each year than Boston. In fact it more than doubles Bostons annual average:
Snowfall - Average Total In Inches

Flagstaff gets on average 100.3 inches of snow each year. Boston gets 60.3 inches on average. In fact, it even receives more snow than Denver, with 60.3 inches. Even the lake effect snow of Buffalo at 93.6 inches isn't more than Flagstaff.

No, not kidding. Fact averse much? Jeez.

Draft UN climate report shows 20 years of overestimated global warming, skeptics warn

A preliminary draft of a report by the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was leaked to the public this month, and climate skeptics say it contains fresh evidence of 20 years of overstated global warming.

The report -- which is not scheduled for publication until 2014 -- was leaked by someone involved in the IPCC’s review process, and is available for download online. Bloggers combing through the report discovered a chart comparing the four temperature models the group has published since 1990. Each has overstated the rise in temperature
that Earth actually experienced.

“Temperatures have not risen nearly as much as almost all of the climate models predicted,” Roy Spencer, a climatologist at the University of Alabama at Huntsville, told FoxNews.com.

“Their predictions have largely failed, four times in a row... what that means is that it's time for them to re-evaluate,” Spencer said.
The IPCC graph shows that the midpoints of the various models predicted that the world would warm by between about 0.5 degrees Fahrenheit and 0.9 degrees Fahrenheit between 1990 and 2012. Actual warming was much less than that: 0.28 F, according the data the IPCC cites.

Do you think that big thing in the background has anything to do with it?

Yes, obviously mountains have something to do with it. I posted as much before you chimed in. I'd love to hear from you though how you can have an avalanche without snow, which this particular area of Arizona receives plenty of...though apparently you were not aware of.

It's all about the altitude lads.

I can't remember the name of the pass I drove from UT, AZ or NM to CO, but it was13,000ft

I'll have to dig that up

Has anyone calculated the amount of bank transfers needed to FINALLY... after BILLIONS of years... make the earth's climate stop changing?

Well if this was just a discussion on the earth's natural cycles and how the climate has changed over the course of billions of years slowly and at times rapidly I could see your point.
