Hey, you guys, a dude bit the dust, (or should I say bit the moose?) This is no laughing matter. 8O

A face plant into the snow after a bad low bridge call with a travelling moose is serious business.

But I'm still kinda bored.

I'll be in the 9Gags thread.

I'm assuming the safety request for no skidooing after dark has to do with the fact that so many people are zipping around acreage communities, not noticing barbed wire fences in the dark. But that's just a guess.

Most serious skidoo accidents I've seen people die or break their backs in, have been after dark. It makes it harder to see approaches (the main way I've seen people injured). my uncle's was also after dark, and claimed his life, but I suspect that was an intoxication issue, as he hit a van crossing a country road.

And that is why you stick to the marked trails and follow their speed limits. There are 5000 miles of groomed and marked trails in SK that are perfectly safe day or night if you're sober.

Shouldn't be bombing around in unknown territory at higher speeds in the first place. Also, asking permission from property owners beforehand is pretty cool. I closed my roads because of people that were scooting around the place with ATVs without asking. They have no idea if one or both of us or friends are riding around on horseback here and a fall off a startled horse in rugged terrain can be nasty.

Moose attack injures Prince George RCMP officer, damages vehicle

A little anecdote from one of my adventures in northern BC:
Boss told me to take the shoptruck up to repair a gravel truck that had been plowing snow. Hour and a bit later I got there and the plowtruck looked like people had been throwing bowling balls at it; including the snowblade. What had happened was the driver had been plowing and approached a railway overpass with a bull under it. The bull had nowhere to go so it attacked the plowtruck ..... several times.
Saw a cow beat the crap out of a little Japanese sports car that got a bit too close to its two kids one time, too.
****in idiots that laugh at moose when they are close aren't the brightest.

OK, what happened to my vid?

A little more about mooses:

buddy forgot to ask the guys to hold his beer. I know this is wrong thinking but when people do stuff that cruel (chasing in a car) or that stupid (pretending he's a moose and waving his arms) I want the animal to whip their stupid azz. Not kill them but just get even. It makes me cheer for the animal.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Kinda makes you wonder which one is more intelligent. 1800 pounds of anger is nothing to mock.

I think they should be charged personally. You can run a deer to death and I'm sure a moose is no different.

I was wondering if they were using Marvin the Moron there as bait and then they were going to shoot it when it got close.

right on Karrie.

Yep.I think there are a couple provinces that have laws against running critters. BC does.
yes because stupid there said, he is tired...and then they kept chasing him... he moves by the way...wow, I've never seen a moose before close up like in the video running full out like that...beautiful... and one of them even said he was beautiful so I don't know where their head was at either.

I'd say they're morons but that would be an insult to moronic people everywhere.

Completely brainless.
