In a video obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, then-presidential candidate Barack Obama tells an audience of black ministers, including the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, that the U.S. government shortchanged Hurricane Katrina victims because of racism.
“The people down in New Orleans they don’t care about as much!” Obama shouts in the video, which was shot in June of 2007 at Hampton University in Virginia. By contrast, survivors of Sept. 11 and Hurricane Andrew received generous amounts of aid, Obama explains. The reason? Unlike residents of majority-black New Orleans, the federal government considers those victims “part of the American family.”
The racially charged and at times angry speech undermines Obama’s carefully-crafted image as a leader eager to build bridges between ethnic groups. For nearly 40 minutes, using an accent he almost never adopts in public, Obama describes a racist, zero-sum society, in which the white majority profits by exploiting black America. The mostly black audience shouts in agreement. The effect is closer to an Al Sharpton rally than a conventional campaign event.

Facts? I must have missed that part of the debate. Romeny wouldn't know a fact if he blew it out his backside, which is where most of his rhetoric came from. As usual in these "debates" it is not about the facts; it is about looking like a winner and making things up.
Actually in spite of Obama's mediocre perfromance the one comment that may be most remebered is Romeny's Big Bird comment in which he threatened to get rid of PBS.
What more could Obunco ask for? He now has the unqualified endorsements from Hugo Chavez and Dear Leader Jr from North Korea. Wait until his other fellow Communists from other parts of the globe give him a boost too. Somalia and Mali have been quiet recently (probably awaiting their hand outs from our Foreign Aid program.) but they will get vocal soon. I'll bet the Talban would endorse him if he pulled our troops out of Afghanistan overnight too.

I politely asked her why it was wrong for Mitt Romney to tell the truth, namely that Spain's spending is completely out of control. I also added:
While I was visiting Germany earlier this year, the Greeks were really angry at Angela Merkel because she told them that they were spending too much. They were and they are. Does that make it wrong for her to tell them the truth? As a Canadian, I will openly tell you all, my American friends, that you're spending way, way too much. Your debt has grown to astronomical levels. Every country in history that has had such high debt compared to what it produces, has suffered a terrible crash with devastating results afterwards. Does me saying this make me undiplomatic and insulting of you?

Obama hasn't gotten us into this mess, which is the worst recession since the 1930's, and based on the fact that much of the collapse revolved around lack of regulation in the housing loan business, there's no quick fix. Once people started losing their homes, it has a domino effect. George W. Bush is the one who got us into two wars, gave tax cuts, and added medicare benefits without EVER including them in his budget. Obama got the hand he was dealt. And I can tell you that the Republicans have done absolutely EVERYTHING they can to stop every effort he makes to get the economy back on track.
