What's BS about it? Obama is an anti-Christian, anti-biblical, anti-Israel, Muslim-sympathizing, baby-killing, homo***ual-filth-loving, neo-Communist, low-life scumbag. Easily one of the worst people on the planet today.

Welcome back. Your posts are like the breath of fresh air that emits from my rectum in the mornings, with the same amount of intellect.

In the States, forced to pay, after taxes.

Not so fast: healthcare premiums are tax deductible so its not AFTER taxes in the state of Pennsylvania (I can't comment on other states).

I still can't vote in elections (I may be able to in the next mid-term ones if I decide to go that route)but my wife is an American and voting for Democrat for a variety of reasons:
- party stance on women's issues (especially on things like abortion, which we both don't like but believe should be between a woman, her doctor, her god and possibly the father)
- party's stance on segregation of church and state (the religious right holds far too much sway in the Republican party for either of us to be comfortable with them)
- party's stance on interventionist foreign policy
- party's stance on taxation (she doesn't believe in trickle down to the degree Romney seems to champion)
- the fact that Romney can't open his mouth outside the country without looking like an ass and offending someone (i.e. his comments prior to the London Olympics which seemed ill advised at the time and unfounded after the fact)

That doesn't mean Obama is the be-all and end-all of candidates, he's just the better smelling of the choices.

You really, really don't like him.

Those days are long gone.

Almost makes one wish we could communicate with the dead...............would love to hear what old time Republicans have to say about this new bunch of tea party politicians.

Without any ad hominem in your answer tell us why the Americans should re-elect Obama. In other words which policies have been sucessful and have improved your life and which policies that he has proposed will benefit the US?

This is an oddly worded question. Is it only for Canadians to answer?

Ah yes, the same old, same old. If your opinion isn't the same as mine, you are of low intellect. "I'm smart and you're not". No challenge here. And yes I missed you too. :)

Nor are the majority of people in this country.

How do you make it through the day?

Oh I can deal with people rejecting Christ, what I find infuriating is a politician telling us "I'm a Christian" when he is not.

I would never vote for a Republican, simply because of their religious right hijacking of governance. Never in a million years would they get my consideration.

I would never vote for a Democrat. Their idea of "personal responsibility" is basically it's "not your fault" and that, somehow, the government will make it all better.

Yep. Personal responsibility is often under-rated these days.

'Governing while Republican' is not a bad ideal but is sure a trendy target.

If I had a vote, and I don't, I would vote for Obama because he is the best of the two possibilities. I was
impressed with him when he was in Canada. Romney hasn't impressed me anywhere.

Gone where?

Start a new one? Oh the Democrats would love that.

I am sure you think the Democrats we have today are like the Democrats of John F. Kennedy?

Ha. Of course not. They've been pretty much useless for a long time rather than crazy. I dont see why Americans put up with either party.

I can't think of any good reason to vote for him. That of course does not necessarily raise the the alternative in my eyes. Poor US voters come next election.

Well for starters he hasn't gone down the route that McCain planned on going: "Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran"

He actually pulled out most of the troops from Iraq and scaling back action in Afghanistan.... he hasn't bent over backwards for Israel in starting another pointless war.... he's been attempting to clean up the mess the Republicans/Bush left the US in..... and Mitt would just keep that mess going.

Mitt doesn't have very good foreign policy or skills/knowledge of other nations as already proven through his venture abroad to prove he did, and when you are stuck between two "evils" typically you choose the lesser of the two.

.... just off the top of my head, but I honestly don't care either way, as I don't live in the US and they're not going to fix their problems any time soon with whoever they vote for.

Well, OK, in relative terms he's still not as bad as Bush, but that's like voting for the lesser evil. But between him and Romney, unfortunately it appears, so far at least, that again Obama "wins". But honestly, if I were a US citizen, I think I'd be handing in lots of blank ballots unless some independent candidates of character come in. right, left, I don't care, but just people with character.

- So Obama impressed you when he was in Canada. What exactly did he do or say during his few hours here that impressed you? Was it one of his references to calling "the president" of Canada? Or how about his reference to his sister in law living in Burlington in "the province of Toronto"? Or was it his cool 10 seconds of banter with the salesgirl at the beavertail place in Ottawa where he stopped for a photo opp to impress the dumb rubes?

- Sorry Romney doesn't impress you but it might interest you to know that he has deeply and positively impressed those Canadian business leaders of actual accomplishment with whom he has done business over the years during his many visits to Canada.

- Anyhow, do "enlighten" us as to the sweet smell of BO during his hurried few hours in this country.

P.S. Did Obama give you a phone?

Bingo! Right wingers all say they believe in "personal responsibility" but when their corporations go bankrupt they are the first ones to stand on line and beg the government for a handout. Then they claim government is the problem, not the solution so it should stay out of things like education, infrastructure rebuilding, and medical issues - yet these same delusionals all say government is the exclusive solution for the problems in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Too much spiked up kool aid for these delusionals!

- Walter ... You posed a very tough question and one that so far nobody has anwered in an accurate, relevant, persusasive fashion.

- But in the words of OJ Simpson, let me take a stab at it.

- Perhaps Americans should vote for the 2008 novelty candidate with no resume and utterly failed president and 2012 candidate Obama because he may well be able to do for the country what he did for Chicago during his years there as a community organizer and state senator.

- Here are some of the physical results of Obama's Chicago career (his only career until 2008). I'd show pictures of the people as well as the buildings but that would be too gruesome what with all the dead bodies and violent assaults that make Chicago the mecca for murder and all manner of violent crimes. And I`d show statistics on the rates of unemployment, poverty, illiteracy, etc. in Obama`s stomping ground but that would be way too depressing.

- Anyhow, if Americans are so bloody stupid as to elect this hoax of a candidate who failed miserably in Chicago and is failing miserably in Washington, then they almost deserve what they will get over the next four years.

- But don`t forget the free phone!
