O.K. I'm not insulting Alberta... so take s deap breath already.
Arrived Tuesday.. have a job.. easy part. However I am currently posting this thread from a tent on my phone.
Apartments, waiting lists, 8 to 20.showings, you're on a list. This camp ground is full with displaced people
.
Fortunately I figured out the game and have a place for August 1st.
You see a place you like, bring a deposit.. site unseen. I was very lucky and got a very very nice unit
Most places have waiting lists with 100's of people
.
Geeez
Sorry for typos, fat fingers on this phone.

I was offered a sweet job in Roosevelt County. If greenies knew North Dakota existed they'd sh!t their pants at what is going on down there.
Please be respectful of the locals... this goes for any boomtown, from Alberta, Sask, to Williston, North Dakota...
See the comment above....Just for you Petros
Does that explain it for you... the reason I was able to fond this video so easy, as I was thinking about going to Willston, North Dakota. Truckers jobs pay really good.. in the oil field industry.
5 years ago a house in Roosevelt was $15K. If you couldn't afford one then.....He said rent.. people on a fixed income don't own homes generally..
I have land outside Medford Texas lots of gas well there..
Maybe I need to toss a couple of trailers on it and rent them out.. lil
Why would I buy a house in Rosevelt when I lived in Texas??5 years ago a house in Roosevelt was $15K. If you couldn't afford one then.....
You missed the point on that one. The poor didn't get any poorer, and long term rentals didn't rise. Oil never created the rise either. It was flakes from AZ, CA etc looking for those cheap Missouri river views that did it.
healthcare....the thing the poor benefit from the most from a boom.
Not always.. refer to video...
Lets say you are a working mother. same job for 20a years at the local CVS. You have a retirement plan and are about to retire.. Because of your health plan for you and your chikdren you couldn't afford to by a home.. now comes the boom.
You're 55, female and a renter.. your kids now want to go to college..
Don't over think it petros...

CVS either increases wages to match the economy, or, with her experiences she moves elsewhere.
