You got a bad case of Alberta envy!
Not even close. I lived there for three years, couldn't stand the place, never felt at home with the politics or the culture, went to sane and civilized Saskatchewan as soon as I could. Hell, I'd rather live in Winnipeg than anywhere in Alberta.

Calgary's the last place in Canada I'd choose to live. It's full of people like Harper. If Freud lived there, he wouldn't have come up with the idea of penis envy. It would have been Texas envy.

Full of people like Harper eh...... for a supposedly smart man...... you're pretty fu cking stupid sometimes.

To each his own, I've spent a lot of time in Calgary, and with the possible exceptions of some of the drivers and periods of unseasonable weather, I've never found a thing to complain about- same goes for Edmonton- people are fine in both places! Probably the worst thing about Harper is he's a politician and actually from Ontario!

I've live in Kelowna, Vancouver, Edmonton, Saskatoon, La Ronge, Flin Flon and Regina...somehow managed to not do Calagary.....yet.

I don't mind it but it lacks Feng Shui.

Is that something like Chop Suey? I know that is hard to come by in Calgary.

If there were a million people making the claim their city was the best in the world
they would all be right. The fact is the belief in the city being the best in an over
all individual thing. I like Calgary, nice city my sister lives there, as for Gretzky,
no not so much, I think he was a wimp. He could pass, shoot and score goals he
couldn't fight his own battles though. See a bunch of people will not agree but
then sports hero's are a personal choice as well.

Yep, just look at his polling numbers in his home city.

I'm no genius, but at least I'm not the foul-mouthed ill-mannered dick you usually present yourself as. I dunno what your problem is, but I know you're really a better man than that.

Every hockey player has his fortes, passing, shooting, scoring are pure hockey skills, fighting isn't. Actually if you were to check on how many games Gretzky played, you'd find he's one of the iron men of hockey. He's a little tougher than he looks. He remains to this day the greatest hockey player in the world.

Meeting him was great,he let my buddy, wife and her girlfriend in the cockpit and I got pics of all of them.He was very polite and chatted about our vacation that we were going on to Mexico.I was seated with Marty Mcsorley but didnt know it as he was sleeping when we boarded in Calgary,I traded my buddy for his window seat and when he figured out it was marty he shook him awake,my buddy was Martys biggest fan.
So I got all the old time oilers autographs on my plane ticket.
The oilers did not fly first class back then, they flew coach.

We need more Gretzkys in hockey today.

Them's fightin' words.;)

It's true that a big part of Gretzky's success was the fact that if anybody touched him Big Dave Semenko would pound them into a mess, but that was the way the league was back then. The players did their own policing, now the game's a gong show where no-name no-talent hitmen can take out some of the best players and get a little tickle on the wrist for it. Just look at how close we came to losing Crosby.

I liked the game better when the artists like Gretzky could do their stuff without worrying about getting their heads taken off.

No, he played for the Oilers, the Leafs and I think Hartford.

Even Gretzky admits that Dave was a big part of his success.

Edmonton Oilers Legends: Dave Semenko

"Sammy," a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, was one of Wayne's best friends and probably the most popular guy in the Edmonton Oilers dressing room. Everybody liked Dave. He would do anything for his teammates and on many nights he was the only guy who stood up for them.

I think he's still here on the Oilers scouting staff.

Nah, the armpit is Burlington, the choad is Hamilton, the asshole is Oshawa, the sack is Toronto, and the dick is Ottawa.

Everyone knows that.
And I heard the crap is in Kewbec City, Kebek. :D At least driving-wise.

lol.

As far as cities go, I don't mind Calgary too much. When I was there it was an easy place to get around in, unlike Edmonton. Even Vancouver is easier to get around in than Edmonton.

I think he's still here on the Oilers scouting staff.

Lets not forget Joey Moss.
Great story,Gretzky is a good guy.

Joseph Neil "Joey" Moss (born September 25, 1963) is the locker room attendant for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League and the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. Born with Down syndrome, Moss caught the eye of Oilers centre Wayne Gretzky in 1985, when Gretzky was dating Moss's sister, Vicki. Impressed with the dedication Moss brought to a job at an Edmonton bottle depot, Gretzky suggested to team general manager Glen Sather that the young man be given a tryout.
As the summer of 1986 came around, Gretzky was worried that Joey would lose everything he had learned with the Oilers, so Gretzky called up the equipment manager of the Edmonton Eskimos, Dwayne Mandrusiak, and asked him if Joey could work with them during training camp. Gretzky even offered to pay Joey's wages for the team.
Moss's career with the Oilers long outlasted Gretzky's, and his determination and passion for hockey have made him a nationwide celebrity and a major symbol of continuity within the franchise. (In 2006, during a surprising Oiler playoff run, he delayed elective surgery for a hernia in order to see the Stanley Cup playoffs through to the finish.) His main duties with the team include cleaning, handling towels and water, and running errands for former equipment manager Lyle "Sparky" Kulchisky.
In 2003, Moss received the NHL Alumni Association's "Seventh Man Award" in recognition of outstanding behind-the-scenes service to the league. The Joey Moss Cup, a trophy contended for by Oilers players in an annual split-squad game near the end of training camp, is named after him.
Joey's dedication to the Edmonton Eskimos and the Oilers was recognized when a mural was unveiled on October 20, 2008 on 99th Street in Edmonton.

Yep, just look at his polling numbers in his home city.

Really, so polling numbers genuinely reflect the make up of an entire city. Did a little asking around, and no one "I" know has been polled when it comes to stevie.

I'm no genius, but at least I'm not the foul-mouthed ill-mannered dick you usually present yourself as. I dunno what your problem is, but I know you're really a better man than that.

Rather be foul mouthed and ill mannered than be an arrogant prick like you.

oh yes, and lately, you've been proving that you are far from a genius every time your fingers hit the keyboard.
