If a player who had 'NO' prior suspensions and had the recent penalty that torres just did, he would 'NOT' receive 25 games, why is that so hard for so many to grasp.

It isn't rocket science.

Talloola, unlike you and me hockey has many viewers, with the same mental capacity as Torres, single figure I.Q.s.:lol:

Canucks just did the usual and choked.

Actually, it was a well played game by both teams and it certainly wasn't for lack of trying that the Canucks lost. L.A. just got one more lucky bounce. Anyway it's not the end of the world....................the sun will rise in the morning.

L.A. played a better game tonight than the canucks, L.A. could afford to be a bit more relaxed, be
more agressive, and have a bit more fun, and canucks had ellimination hanging over their heads, so
it seemed they were squeezing their sticks a bit tighter.

doesn't bother me at all that canucks lost, as I was getting a bit tired of both teams, 'not' scoring goals,
mentioned to my daughter that it has been more like a soccer tournament, than hockey.

next season they have to get some players who are better goal scorers, as kesler has dried up, higgins had
a short scoring streak, same as booth, not good enough, there are young players just waiting to make
this team, so lets see them, and see how they do.
The sedins can't do it all by themselves.

I like the coaching staff, don't want to see them go anywhere, and gillis has to take responsibility for
some of these problems, so it doesn't do much for the team to just fire the coaches, without taking a
good look in the mirror first. Just come back next season, and do better.
Canucks had a very good team, had a very good season, I'm satisfied, and can't wait for training camp, I'm
certainly not going to whine and sniffle and demand everyone be fired, all that
is, is people pouting because they can't stand losing, losing isn't the end of
the world, people don't die, no one shoots anyone, the sun comes up the next day,
life goes on, and the same can happen with the canucks, its just a game.

I just watched half of the first period, then did yard work, came in and it was over, was it a good
game?

If one was a Flyer's fan, it was. The Flyers deserved this one, they out-played the Pens who didn't look sharp nor focused much. Fleury let in a couple that he definitely should have had but the team didn't give him much support either. Ah well, will be saving my cheers for the Senators and the Blues now.

Why is it that many can't figure out that the 25 games is NOT just for the recent dumb move by torres.
The recent suspension has its own suspension, and number of games, AND all of the past suspensions have been taken into account.

They can't figure it out because they don't bother to take the time to either listen to what Shanahan said about his reasons for the 25 game suspension, talloola, or it could be that they are the type of 'fan' who like to see behavior such as Torres and think he should be rewarded for it.

I think they lost to a better team. Have to give LA credit.

I will give Jonathan Quick credit, Kreskin.

The Capitols are going to have to dig deep if they want to eliminate Boston. Though I don't like Boston, I do like Tyler Sequin and am quite happy for him that he got the OT goal even though it prolonged the series.

I sure hope Alfie is back for the Senators next meeting with NY, I would like nothing better than to see Tortie's team go down to defeat and him with it.

GO, CAPITOLS, GO! GO, SENATORS, GO!

if you say so ---

Oh, I'm just going by what you and your buddy said last year, how hard it is to win the President's, how it's much harder than the Stanley Cup, etc etc. If it's such a hard thing to do, and so prestigious, the Stanley Cup is obviously a consolation round. That's what the Canucks fans were saying last year, anyway. Scroll back through this thread, you'll find it.

Stanley Cup is all about big bucks, period. What other professional sport has playoffs lasting 21/2 months, with a potential for 105 games?

don't remember saying the presidents' cup is harder, but maybe it is, in a different way, out of all the
teams it is 'very difficult' to win, no doubt about that, and the stanley cup is a different format alltogether,
and also difficult to win, but the stanley cup tournament is short, any team can come out of the
pack and win it, and good for them.

this stuff about consolation round etc., are just your words, I don't think that at all, i'm pretty realistic about it, one thing is first, hard to win, the other is second, also hard to win, the big prize for the
players is the stanley cup, that is what they strive for.

I guess if one delved deeply into the whole subject, maybe the presidents' cup is harder to win, but it
isn't what the players are after in the long run. They all would want to win it, because of the home ice
advantage aspect.
Just look back to how this season ended, 3 teams were neck n neck for the presidents' cup, and while that was
happening, there was lots of chit chat about it, and lots of attention on just 'what' team would end up on
top, as it happened it was the canucks, but it could easily have been the rangers or st. louis, then it
was over, and everyone moved on.

But if they were given a choice, of course they want the stanley cup, that is very obvious.,

Don't know why we have to haggle over the two cups, one is one, and the other is the other.
Not a lot of fans even think about the presidents' cup, they are so wrapped up in the stanley cup, it makes
me laugh, as right from the beginning of the season, the talk is 'about' who's going to win the cup,
and will canucks do it, how the hell would anyone even begin to guess that, in october.

The wonderment for me is fun, I like lots of different teams, and watch lots of teams play, and now that
canucks are finished, i'm not, I will continue on till its over, and I will always have a team to cheer
for, i'm not a one team fan, that is dissapointing when that team is finished, those fans wrap it up,
put their flags away and dissapear, not me.

JLM isn't my buddy, he is my friend, that is a masculine saying, I don't have
buddies.
