I partly agree, but honestly they should have had this game put away in the first period while Calgary was sleeping and flat footed.
they hadn't yet taken their turn to be asleep and flatfooted, that came in the second period.

Bring on Eddie Lack!!
blow up the team, start fresh with luongo and build from there. lol
Oh but this team ahead of just about every team in the NHL. The don't need home ice advantage unless they meet the top team in the final series. They've already got home ice advantage over their division.
What this team needs is to wake up and start playing like they actually gave a damn.

they haven't clinched home ice in the conference yet, st louis plays tonight and tomorrow, and canucks
with one game left don't know yet, they could have done it last night, but didn't happen.
Seven wins in a row suggests to me that they have already.
And if they don't you really can't feel sad for them, they should have had that game last night "put away" by the 10 minute mark!
St. Louis are 2 points behind vancouver, with two games left, so they can win the conference with two wins, to canucks one, and if they are tied at the end of reg. play, st. louis wins with more 'ROWs' than canucks.
but games are 60 minutes long, and the 10 minute mark doesn't mean much, even if a team is ahead by 3 or 4.
as yogi said, 'it ain't ova till its ova'. lol
If St. Lou and Canucks win all remaining games, Canucks should win as they will have 51 wins to St. Lou's 50.
If canucks and st. louis end up tied for points, you go to the ROW column, and st. louis will win, go to the bottom of the stat page and it explains how ties are broken, #2 rule.

You mean tied for points and wins?

the ROW column has excluded any shoot-out wins, as they are not allowed to be added to make a tie breaker situation.
so the ROW column is all reg. wins plus overtime wins, and excludes shoot out wins.
the first win column includes all the shoot out wins.

Yep, I just read the tie breaking rules. #2 makes absolutely no sense to me at all (Bettman or Burke probably made that one up) Wins............period should count before S/O wins are eliminated.

they just added that rule either last season or the one before, as they decided shoot out wins should
not be considered as valuable as regulation/overtime wins, so they eliminated them for tiebreakers.
So, what they have actually done is reduce all shoot out winners to the 'one' point
they would have had after overtime, thus bringing all teams to that point, which
would have made those games 'ties', giving each team 1 point.

Yeah, I thought every win is worth 2 points. Someone should tell Bettman he can't suck and blow at the same time.:lol::lol:

well st. louis didn't do themselves any favour either, as they just lost to phoenix, so now canucks can win over them with a win tomorrow, irrespective of what st. louis do, even one point for canucks will do it.

Yep, I was following it on line, that good and I think it's Dallas' turn to win tomorrow. Actually this B.S. system of breaking ties has kind of put a damper on my enthusiasm. First should be points, second number wins, third points in games against each other and THEN ROW wins. Anyway Canucks SHOULD be able to get one point from Edm. at home.

that game was on TSN, you could have watched it, or maybe your tv was tied up, anyway good news for
canucks, they are in charge of their own destiny again, at least against st. louis.
