I like it when games go the way that one did, just proves the Canucks are a character team, there were spells when Cgy. outplayed them, but all in all Van was the far superior team, and WITHOUT Dan'l or it would have been 7 to 2. They are now within reach of N.Y.R.

and, canucks are actually tied with rangers, but they have the game in hand.

also have to mention Lapierre, first star, and a great game.

I have to remember the montreal fan who made fun of the canucks on this board
when they acquired lapierre and higgins, saying what a couple of useless players
they are, I replied to him to watch how they improve now that they are canucks,
need I say more!!!!!
lapierre and higgins were montreal players.

It was a fun game to watch. I thought it was Kassian's best game as a Canuck. Henrik looked like he had a little more jump. Love this Lapierre connection. They should break up the twins when Daniel gets back. Put him on Keslers line.

Kassian showed all of us what is to come from him, he has all the tools needed to be a star someday, and I hope all of the people who have whined and whined about him coming to the team, saw him tonight, and maybe they will shut their yaps now.

yeah, lol, how will they fit daniel back into the team. Where can't lapierre play.

I liked the way Henrik got right in the fray and fought for the puck - good on him, showed lots of heart. Thought Ryan did a good job of working along the boards and getting the puck out to his buddies too.

I really enjoyed Schneider's "After Hours" interview on HNIC. The way he responded to the question about playing goal in Vancouver and where he could be in the future he didn't hold back in letting it be known he would like to play as a #1 for the Canucks.

I knew st. louis had lost to columbus, and I couldn't believe that canucks were on their way to a loss playing against the flames, but glad I hung in there, cause the tieing goal came, then canucks started to look like they really wanted to win this game, and in overtime andrew ebbet, his first game back, scored the winning goal, putting canucks on top of the western conference.

just those pesky rangers sitting just ahead now, on top of the league, so these last few games will be interesting to see , which of the 3 teams will cross the finish line in front, to capture that presidents' cup.

3-2 OT

Really got a kick out of the team giving Andrew Ebbett all those nuggies for his winning OT goal - showed how together the team is and how well they support one another.

Watched an interview with Corey after the game, what a smart and personable young man he is and his impersonation of Alain was really funny.

One thing I can't figure out talloola is why a team would want to trade either Corey or Lou - what if something happened to either one and the team didn't have such stellar back-up? Accidents and injuries do happen, so why take the chance?

I watched that too, Kreskin..............he is a great interview, smart and well able to handle all the questions. Didn't know that people were calling him the third 'twin' thought that was really funny.

They can't pay both of them, not enough cap room, and teams don't generally carry two number one goalies
anyway, the number one is the 'guy', with a good back up, but now schneider is ready for his own team,
his contract expires at the end of this season, and he deserves the big bucks now.

I wish luongo would be moved on, then they can keep schneider, not sure if they can swing it, but there
is a way. Luongo is a lot older than schneider, and florida is his wifes home, and they need a number
one goalie, so if he would waive his 'no trade' contract, they can get together and figure something out
together, (luongo/gillis), in a good way that helps all parties. If Luongo continues to play at the
level he is now, he will be in demand, his cap hit is a bit over 5 mill per year, his salary bigger
than that, but over the long term they signed him, each year isn't too high for a few teams out there
to manage.

If Luongo refuses to wave a no-trade clause there are some other options:

1) Put him permanently on the inactive roster. He can spend the rest of his career never playing hockey again.
2) Change his position to stick boy. He would be the highest priced stick boy in the league but if he wants to spend the next 7 years handing out sticks and towels, great.

I think gillis should hear that directly from you, try to set up a meeting, as i'm not sure that he
has that on his to-do list. lol

There is no doubt that Cory Schneider is going to be a number one goaltender for some team sometime soon. It might be Vancouver
but I think it will be another team as yet unnamed. When Luongo is in his zone, he is probably the best goalie in the league. I think the Canucks have to trade Schneider for the obvious financial reasons. I just hope they get something or somebody good in trade for him.

I found it on HNIC after hours, but it won't play properly, introduction starts, then
just becomes hit and miss, then stuck, tried it many times, it won't play properly.

It's getting better all the time Talloola, Canucks are now 2nd in the league and that is only because N.Y.R. has more wins.

NYR just lost to boston this afternoon, games are even now.

canucks play again before st. louis play, so they will go 3 up 'if'
they win.
st. louis will play detroit on wednesday

rangers play philly on tuesday, I'll be watching that one.

Canucks have an easier schedule than NYR, although they've faltered more this year against lower opponents. After Phiily, NYR plays in Pittsburgh before final game at home against the Caps. Van plays all the cellar dwellers in the west.

yes, those who are out of the playoffs can be tricky, eg. buffalo needed the win against toronto last night desperately, but they lost, now they are almost out of the playoffs, still can pull it off, but it looks grim
as washington and ottawa won their clutch games.

so, we will have to watch it all unfold, and don't have a clue how it will end.

canucks can't end up in a tie with rangers, have to end up ahead of them, or they will be second.

and then there is st. louis.

Perhaps the Canucks had a role in creating those "cellar dwellers".
