Equalization
Federal equalization and other wealth transfer programs were ostensibly intended to balance the quality of social programs across the country. Instead, what has happened is that the provinces benefiting most from these programs are now able to offer significantly more generous services to their citizens than the two or three provinces who are the actual net contributors (primarily Alberta and Ontario). It is no small irony that the biggest single beneficiary of such transfers, Quebec, provides cheap university tuition and inexpensive provincial day care, while Albertans pay high prices for, and have severe shortages of both in their own province. There's over 10,000 jobs posted in Ontario. There are jobs everywhere. My company has to hire people from outside of Canada because our job market doesn't have the skills focus that our jobs require.
Workopolis only posts up to 10,000 jobs. Another search engine (indeed.com) for Ontario jobs returned 71,892 jobs. Not surprised that you missed the point, there are jobs everywhere.
So, why can't Ontario pay its Bills, why do we have to send you money so that you can pay your bills?
Durrpy, "you" doesn't apply to me and Ontario. Your province has to pay more money than your province receives because there's a formula that the government uses to redistribute taxed money. I've explained the math to you before. Are you that forgetful, or did you not learn anything yet aboout how equalization actually is calculated?
