You may think free range cheese is a good thing until they get loose from their pasture and end up on the highway.

Well then the cheese ranchers just need to be more responsible.

A little barb wire fence will cut them down to size very quickly. ;)

They don't do well in the sun either. This is why I prefer barn raised, grain fed cheese.

It's recycled free range cheese.
Ahhh, free range cheese. Soon the air will be filled with the aroma of the blossoming mac-n-cheese trees...

But it's so cruel to keep them all penned in that way. What kind of a life is that for them?

That's why it's my favourite time of the year. Those macaroni blossoms are a thing of beauty aren't' they?

Hopefully more responsible than the marshmallow farmers...

That's what a fresh crop of marshmallows look like.

But when left out in the sun, they turn...

This nasty black, and aren't very tasty.

Sweet! Is there a Spirals cultivar?
Yes, and a penne one as well, so I hear.

The wild growing ones along the lake look majestic against the shoreline.

Very, very irresponsible!

Everyone knows that you need to get in there with the chocolate and graham crackers before they turn black.

Sheesh, I'm a city girl and even I know that one.

The wife picked up this real neat Chocolate Bonsai tree, just for that very reason...

This is what they look like prior to harvest and before cut to length.

I guess they puff up, in the last few weeks on the vine?

Good things really do grow in Ontario don't they?
Especially near Port Hope.

I love how they get them to grow right inside the cupcakes. That's just so neat!

Especially near Port Hope.

Port Hope, if I recall correctly, was actually founded by early settlers determined to make macaroni growing an integral part of the Canadian landscape.

Are they part of the shaghetti tree family?

On a side note, I saw a documentary once where they tried to integrate the marinara sauce directly into the growing process. Very messy.

Please, always remember to pick your spaghetti first.

I looked in my Farmer's Almanac. Apparently the black ones are infected with the mallow weevil. Monsanto is working on a pesticide for it.
