I'm confused... How can you applaud China's eco-sector so strongly, knowing that the employ slave labour and possibly exploit little children?.. All this just to appease the Mental Floss' of the world.

I never said I applaud slave labour.

It is good to see our own "dear' leader taken seriously.

Indeed.

One might think revealing hypocritical policy is quite taboo, by some of the views in this thread.

Everybody needs to just shut up and listen to their government. ;)

What a buffoon Harper is. He should be worrying about developing a refining industry in Canada and shipping finished product to markets instead of establishing Canada in permanent colonial status as a supplier of raw materials to the U.S. I mean what a stupid, weak little fart we have as Prime Minister.. a real disgrace. He has surrounded himself enough fellow quislings and failed Canadians.. that no one seems to be able to present a viable response to him. I'm still hopeful the Old PC nationalists will finally kick this fool into the dustbin of history before he totally dismantles the Canadian nation state.

So is this is part of the ethical oil campaign? LOL

Why are we importing oil into Eastern Canada when we could ship it by pipeline east - Same as going west thru BC.
Upgrading and refining prior to exporting it.

Call it what you want but oil is not going to be suddenly replaced.
Trillions of dollars locked into the Oil Sands.
Ethical - unethical oil - call it what ever but it will generate jobs and revenue.

I'm not calling what I want.

I'm referring to the CPC text-book definition of "ethical", which requires both parties to be free of political oppression and human rights violations.

i just tagged onto your post.
I never bought that crap from the outset - Why people did i do not know. I call it a choice of where you buy.

Buy local - we have the product - why import billions of dollars worth of oil when we have the resource here.

Like I mentioned. Oil will be around for a long time.

Chiquita is almost as hypocritical as the CPC confirmed.

Check your keyboard MF... Somehow you've been typing CPC instead of CBC.

Thought that you might like to know

Create refineries, but gradually reduce our dependency on oil.

I am sure you are aware that Quebec has lots of Shale Gas - Enough for 50-100 years. That is cleaner than any oil. But they are and should study the impact on water sources etc.
New Technologies are a long ways off. Look at Ontario and what you are paying for electricity - look at the projected cost 5 and 10 years forwards. Premier dad's foray into a deal that costs billions in elec bills. 80C per Kilowatt for wind - Job killers.

Killed a NG Power Plant - Bad location from all I could gather.
