Besides the West Coast, other seismic hotspots in Canada include the Ottawa and St. Lawrence valleys, the North Atlantic off Cape Breton and the Arctic off Baffin Island.

Its too bad they didnt mention the names of any particualr faults that would cause these potential future earthquakes...

Sudbury is sitting right on a fault...

And earthquake may improve Sudbury's surrounding area.

Ottawa is close to one as we found out last year. Plus with the recent earthquake near Virginia this year Im thinking the eastern part of the country is where it'll be. Then again the west coast has been waiting on "the big one" for a long time.

Ottawa isn't just close to one. If I'm not mistaken, there is a fault line right under Carleton U.

It would be nice if it opened up and swallowed that entire institution.

But then McDonald's would have to look elsewhere for new employees.

Yahoo News, for those who just fell off a turnip truck.

Canada 'could expect' massive earthquake at any time: geophysicist - Yahoo! News

Anyone can write for Yahoo. Submit articles and if they publish they'll pay some peanuts. The content need not be newsworthy.

That is a fairly safe statement to make and for that reason it ranks 683 rd on my list of worries. Canada is a huge country, close to 4 million square miles and about 3.5 million of them are uninhabited. Also a lot depends on the depth of the quake, a 7.5 quake 100 miles under ground isn't as harmful as a 6.5 quake 50' below the surface. It should be against the law to print this sh*t.

Which brings another thought to mind! Can earthquakes be arranged?:lol::lol::lol:

Only if you're a Bond villan. :)

Actually what would be nice is if we took that sentiment just a little north of the university, prefferably when Parliament is sitting. ;)

I like the buildings though. Further to the north and east. 24 Sussex and might as well do Stornoway too.

Good point about the buildings. Perhaps during renovations when they are all in temporary digs? That could work.

They've been renovating for a couple years now. Isnt expected to be completely finished for another five years or so. The idiots forgot to do any maintenence on the buildings whatsoever since they were built it seems. So now its costing billions to refit them. It might be cheaper to build new buildings.
