I like A&W.

Yep, it can be good once or twice a year. Their chicken is a notch above P.F.K.

McDonalds isn't that bad. It's certainly crap, but it isn't the horrible end of the world that some seem to think. It's not particularly worse than, say, EastSideMarios or Montana's or any of those other chain restaurants where, for example, the pasta sauce comes in bags from Trenton, and the cooks aren't cooks, they're just assembly line workers dealing with industrially-produced foodstuffs.

Should we really be comparing the top fast food franchise in the world with the worst "greasy spoons"? That is pretty sad.

I love Teen Burgers.

Yeah me too.

Also the guy was a vegan freak to start out with. Most of the issues he had to start with were because he hadn't eaten food with that much grease in it and his stomach wasn't used to it.

Actually, that's not entirely correct. His girlfriend was Vegan and he was telling her how much he loved McDonalds in the beginning.

I personally don't care for Rotten Ronnies, it doesn't even taste like meat.

I remember him talking about his 'last meal' and it was some vegetarian stuff.

Is it supposed to? They have their taste. If you want to taste meat, you goto the Keg or something.

I like their fries. The burger is something that goes with the fries.

Supersize Me came out a few years ago, and as a number of other forum members have pointed out, the subject went out of his way to eat about the worst that McDonald's had to offer. I remember that as an illustration of that fact someone in Edmonton duplicated the 30 day eat-at-McDonald's marathon, but selected a wider variety of foods from the menu. He didn't gain a gram, but he did find that it was a rather expensive way to eat; much more expensive than eating at home.

Eat at McDonald's three times a day for a month and you're on the verge of death. Smoke three times a day for 30 years and might be get something terminal. And yet where are the warning labels on McDonald's food? If I have to look at some dude's rotting gums every time I want a smoke, customers at McDonald's should be looking at pictures of blubber and stretch marks whenever they want a Big Mac. :p

I could eat at McDonalds every day and not gain an ounce, but that is solely due to the size of the portions, BUT McDonalds food is high in fat and sugar, not to mention being processed food- that's what kills you. If you stick to baby burgers and coffee, it will just take a little longer to kill you.

Smoking 3 times a day is not likely to kill you- it's the ones who smoke 30-40 times a day who are at great risk.

If you took the trouble to read his books, you would find out what his plan was, and how it went. Far more illuminating than the movie.

If those who eat junk food regularly walked to go get it they wouldn't put on any weight or have cholesterol issues.

You're 3/4 right, they probably wouldn't gain weight, their good cholesterol would improve, but bad cholesterol could still be an issue. Years ago I read a book, I think it was called "Fit for Life" by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond, I recommend it for everyone. I don't try to follow it to a T but there is damn good advice there. Basically if you do brisk walking and climbing stairs for 11/2 hours per day, eat lots of vegetables, stick to skim milk everything else will look after itself.

The discussion involved the film and that is what I responded to. This is the only reference I have seen that there even was a book.

Flax...chews up LDL cholestrol and gives the brain an excellent boost.

On a scale of 0 - 10, McDonalds being 0, K.F.C. would be about 0.5 and Subway would be about 3.

Where are you getting your info from? I think it depends what sub you get. The last time I had a meat ball
sub the fat just dripped off it. I don't say KFC is perfect but it seems they put their stuff together with a
bit more care.
