One day climate change skeptics will be seen in the same negative light as racists, or so says former Vice President Al Gore.
In an interview with former advertising executive and Climate Reality Project collaborator Alex Bogusky broadcasted on UStream on Friday, Gore explained that in order for climate change alarmists to succeed, they must “win the conversation” against those who deny there is a crisis.

The key word here is ALARMISTS. Alarmists means: person who needlessly alarms or attempts to alarm others, as by inventing or spreading false or exaggerated rumors of impending danger or catastrophe.

It is not a very flattering term and I never expected to hear it coming from Al Gore. Is he starting to have doubts? Strange why he used it unless he doesn't know what it means.

This article has near 1500 comments, I have never seen so many on an article.

I think Gore is loopy here though. Climate could be changing, but I really don't want to pay much more for things.

This brings up one the subject of peak oil. They say the price of oil is up due not just the BRICS countries buying new cars etc, but also limited refining capacity due to the driving season. In Vancouver, the price of gas is $1.33 a litre. So, if the price of gas stays this high in the fall, when the driving season is long over, it may mean peak oil is here. Because the oil companies cannot find enough oil and we will use less of it because it will continue to climb in price and cost more to do less.

Peak oil will do what Gore and climate change couldn't. Cheap energy is oil and and fossil fuels. Gore will "win" but society will lose as we will no longer be able to afford so many creature comforts. According to the link below, one barrel of oil has the energy of one man labouring for ten years. 5 days week, 40 hours week. Even if they are off by 80%, we could have a problem if gas goes to $2-5 a litre.

How much energy is there in a barrel of oil? | Peak Oil News and Message Boards

Must mean that his carbon trading scam isn't producing enough revenue. Time will prove that the sky is falling alarmist types like Gore and Suzuki will be in the same category as racists.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The sky isn't falling. It's tilting.

One reserve you've never heard about holds: 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia 18-times as much oil as Iraq 21-times as much oil as Kuwait 22-times as much oil as Iran 500-times as much oil as Yemen.

The Bakken is about 2 Trillion last I heard, and something about a patch in the Rockies?
Is that the one you're talking about.

One of the ones in the rockies yeah. Green River but there are others. There are reserves, proven reserves and potential reserves, when all said and done peak oil won't be for another 250-350 years. In geological time we are only drilling to depths of less than 200-300 million years for our oil. Oil producing aquatic life goes back to 3 Billion years. We are literally only just scratching the surface.

Drilling tech is advancing in leaps and bounds in recent times and only going to get better. We have the material to endure the heat of deep drilling but not he mass production.

Oh, I forgot, resident genius here. Show us your brilliance Einstein.
Is that Einstein enough for ya?

by the way. A dirtly little secret of why we have National Parks was to save mass amounts of resources for future use when we can use it without being pigs.

Grassland's National Park is where it is for a damn good reason and was recently created for a damn good reason.

Republican hero Bush believes in global warming so it must be true.

Hey look everyone Gopher alerted us to a Bush Comparison.

Thanks Gopher, well done you.

Is there any way that you can bring some dead Palestinians into the Al Gore issue as well?

Maybe the evil IDF?
