Yeah, I did piece work in a union shop for the required length of probation. Three months.

Then I was out of the union faster than a unionist yelling scab.
If you didn't make probo you were never in. You were permit.

You're not a hard nose. You wouldn't have made your 3 months anyway.

You aren't "Union Tough".

How did they tell your pieces from the other mucker's pieces as they went up the belt to the crusher?

Yes, petros, I did work as a mucker in 1957. At that time the value of my work was measured in tons, not in pieces. And it went down the chute, reminiscent of your long lost credibility. At that time the mine I worked at was non-union.

The incident with the typical non-co-operative 'brothers', I referred to, was in 1965.

If you attempt to humiliate someone for doing an honest day's work get yourself familiar with the concept first.

True indication of a sexist pig: If you are male you only have union brothers. If you are female you only have union sisters. And gender equality be damned!!

I think you need to learn the meaning of sexist pig. I'm surprised that you, as a successful woman, aren't more in tune with that.

I am reminded of my boss from years ago, who was chief mine engineer at what he called 'Idiot Lake', others may have called Elliot Lake.

I um.. yea.. I just had a personal (actually work-related) experience with a client from Elliot Lake.. and umm.. lol.. yea..the alternate name definitely works.

I was in the union for three months. At least the bastards deducted the dues for three months.

Then I got out, got myself on a company training program. If you think that working 12 hours a day, show up anytime you are told, do your best to prove that you deserve consideration for promotion, if you think that walking through shouting idiotic picket lines, risking your tires slashed by union thugs, you have no idea what tough is.

I got out and became a successful self-taught computer programmer. Non-union, because I never needed them.

Three months? I lasted 37 and a half years.

You weren't in the union for three months. You were a permit worker. They didn't want you did they? You weren't indentured were you and that is your beef isn't it?
