Since I lost interest in hockey in 1975, I never looked into this thread before. Meantime, I heard that NO CANADIAN TEAM WOULD EVER WIN THE STANLEY CUP AGAIN, ad nauseum!

The Canucks changed my mind.

Now, there is a chance! GO CANUCKS, GO!

well, looks like hamhuis won't play, and it also seems as though it is alberts now coming into
the lineup, he won't play in hamhuis spot, they will shuffle Ds around.

I will be watching game in victoria hotel tomorrow. I will be walking the 'canadian tour' golf
tournament during the day, my grandson made the cut, so he will play the week end in his first
ever canadian tour tournament, and we will be there, as we probably won't see him much after this,
he plays in kamloops, then plays in a qualifier for 'canadian open', (and later, maybe canadian open), then
the tour slowly crosses canada, starting again in alberta, so everything for us will be checking
scores on the computer as he plays each tournament.

yappy grandparents, can't stop talking about our guy, as we have gone to tournaments to help him
get this far, since he was about 7 years old, back and forth to the mainland, the interior, alberta,
etc etc, and now he has advanced to the beginning of a professional career, his mom and dad have
travelled with him, my oldest daughter took him to florida, he has gone to junior worlds in california
a few times, and many other tournaments all over north america, he was on team canada as a junior,
its so much fun and anticipation, wouldn't have missed it for the world.
We had a travel trailer, which we kept at a friends house in surrey, and we would travel with him,
stay in the trailer, then back home on sunday night, many many times.

OK thats it, i'll shut up now. lol

I told the hotel people the most important thing in our room is a 'really good TV', to watch the canucks
on saturday night. lol

Vancouver OWNED the first period and not just because Alex got the PP goal - his 8th of the play-offs and such a nice come-back from game 1. Right on Alex!!!! The Canucks as one announcer stated 'play by committee' and how true that is, every single member of the team contributes. Lost track of how many times they turned the Bruins back at the blue or stole the puck in the neutral zone.

1 - 0 Canucks at end of 1rst.

GO, CANUCKS, GO! :canada:

1 - 1 now.

Don't take your eye off the prize, boys.

2 - 2 end of 3rd and we are going to OT boys and girls. That 3rd period, especially the latter half was absolutely outstanding. Both teams ramped it up big time. Great hockey - fantastic hockey.

If the Bruins had to score and they did, I am glad to see if was two BC boys who did it - Lucic from Vancouver and Reicchi from Kamloops - I bet a few people silently cheered for these guys. Nice for Milan with his family in the stands.

The second period was not a stellar one for Vancouver as they gave up two goals but they came back in the 3rd to have Daniel tie the game with assist from Burrows and Edler - nice goal for Daniel.

Our guys have been really pounded tonight - Kesler, Rome, Bieksa - all took some hefty hits - but that slash on Kevin was really, really nasty. Got a kick out of Lapierre holding his finger out for Patrice - I believe it was - 'come on bite me big boy. :p

Now that my blood pressure and adrenalin levels have dropped a bit, we are off to OT.

GO, CANUCKS, GO! :canada:

11 seconds!!!!! into the OT!

Unfrickin' real, TP........that has to be up there with one of the quickest OT goals. WAY TO GO, ALEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe this kid should bite a few more fingers - only kidding - was he hot tonight or what. What a goal, what effort, what grace, was dedication!

ROCK ON CANUCKS - YOU GUYS ARE SOOOOOOOOOOO COOL! CONGRATULATIONS!

One of the Hockey Night hosts, might have been Mclean just said that Alex's goal was the second shortest ( by that I take quickest) in Stanley Cup history!

What's the prize for being the most important player in the playoffs? I think Burrows should win it hands down.

That game was a disappointment, I was on my way into the livingroom to watch the O.T. and it was all over.

Conn Smyth trophy. He must be in the running at this point. Still lots of hockey to go and another team that wants to win.

Yeah, two more games.
You originally called this in 5. Are your swami skills flip flopping? ;)

I hope it's 4. I have to stay in downtown Vancouver next friday night (game 5 - not going to it). We're afraid the hotel won't honor our booking or quadruple the price when we get there.

I hear you, Kreskin .......... but you gotta know that the odds are really in our favour now. We need 2 to win they need 2 just to tie. We may have laid off a bit tonight but with the ability of players like Alex .............hell it makes it really hard for Boston to know what is coming at them next. When you have a guy like Alex outplaying someone like Zedeno ....... that extra effort!

I was glad to see Boston come back in the second and really start giving our guys a game. They played really well and finally got another PP goal, but even that wasn't enough to keep them rockin' every minute which they have to do to beat the Canucks. Our guys have the ability, though I shake when they do it, to come back after laying off for a bit........Boston just seems to lose steam.

Loved the cheers for Manny tonight - they must have been thunderous in the arena. Way to put pressure on a guy........ don't know how these guys can keep their cool when the crowd goes nuts like that.

GO, CANUCKS, GO!

I thought the Canucks mysteriously stopped skating in the second. It was like they collectively zoned out.

I know what you mean. Glen Healy was going on about the ice being slushy tonight but it didn't seem to bother Boston too much. I used to get very very antsy when the Canucks fell behind but I don't anymore - I know now that they can and just about always do come back and when they decide to put on the speed I'd best be ready with my Ole horn because I know that a goal will follow.

Looks like a gorgeous night in Vancouver.

They stopped skating and hitting in the 2nd. You could see it was just a matter of time in that period when Boston would score.

It was looking slow @ the end of the first period-two concerts two nights in a row will do that esp. when combined with some actually warmth outside.

Had obligations @ the beach after the second but heard the overtime goal celebrations from blocks away-this town is alive!
