It was claimed that Islam is a genocidal philosophy. I counter that with the fact that my neighbor and his family who happen to be Iranian and practicing Muslims, ergo Islamic, have never given even the slightest hint of having any genocidal tendencies or indicated he is philosophically predisposed to genocide. In fact I have had discussions with him and his father and brother and their wives about such claims made by some people and they are quite clear that it is not the philosophy of Islam but an outrageous interpretation made by some radicals that is used as propaganda by western powers to justify their actions. I have visited his Mosque and met many of his fellow Muslims and none of them buy into what you are trying to sell. I find them to be very sedate, peaceful and tolerant people which is more than can be said for a lot of westerners.

That can be backerd up by the steps Iran made for the welfare of their own people before the coup in 1953. Afghanistan was making similar stride in the mid 1970's, Jimmy Carter gave the CIA the go ahead to support the 'old guard' and that was implemented to draw the USSR into an un-winnable war, 6 months later that goal was achieved by the end of the years the war lasted. My experience with Muslims has largely been the same. Still, the ideology is incontrovertable. It's there in black and white, and is the source of a great deal of violence and misery in the world. It would be nice if the peace loving Muslims could take a stand and convince their fellow religionists that the prosciptions to violence should be ignored, repealed, abrogated, whatever. Problem is, those who do, often find themselves dead in short order.
It's not your neighbors that worry me. Indeed it's not the vast majority of Muslims who worry me. It's those who buy into the notion that killing infidels is holy that worry me. And there are lots of them. Enough, to be worried.
