That should work!

lol - no one would show up at games, except for the boycott crowd with signs of protest. lol

I still like the 'jets' too, but also like 'voyagers', but maybe it is a little too long for
chanting and cheering for one's team, I wonder, i'd like to see more suggestions.

Hope everyone has their canuck shirt on today, and is ready when the puck drops,
play hard, and don't give up, san jose will play better tonight, they are a better
team than they displayed last game, and canucks know they will have to battle harder
to win this one.

Its certainly looking like its done but we thought that about Pheonix too. I am rooting for a team in Winnipeg though, I know Hamilton and Quebec City are wanting teams too so maybe if the Coyotes do move next year...

I can't say I am a bug fan of Voyagers, just doesn't seem right, I am stuck on Jets and that would be my vote but I'm not in Winnipeg and don't get a vote. I agree about voyagers being and apt fit though..LOL

Some of the Winnipeg fans that logged in to TSN last night, were absolutely adamant that the team not be called the Jets as the old Jets were made of up other players now long gone and that the new team should have a new name. As it is the Manitoba fans that will get the team, I will bow to their wishes, whatever they end of being. Still, it is fun to pick names we like.

Well I just got a present for the game tonight. My hockey bud gave me a horn that plays the Ole song and also can be used as a bullhorn. All my friends and neighbors will know every time the Cannucks score a goal tonight.

GO, CANNUCKS, GO!

How about something more original? The Winnipeg Grain Elevators!

LOL! Might be a bit of a mouthful when cheering! Very original though.

I've got a great name for a hockey team for Winnipeg: the Rough Riders. Every sport in every city needs a 'Rough Riders', sometimes more than one!

I am totally biased towards the Roughrider name no matter how you part the two words - there will always be only one team for me that bears that name and that is my team - The Saskatchewan Roughriders! LOL! And no, when Ottawa gets another CFL team they will not get the roughrider name either. Hee, hee, hee. LOL!

6 - 2 oops, make that 7 - 2 Vancouver with less than 3 minutes to play in the 3rd.

6 - 2 oops, make that 7 - 2 Vancouver with less than 3 minutes to play in the 3rd.

7 - 3 Vancouver as the Sharks just scored. Cannucks on PP with just over 2 minutes left.

Geez, what can you say? That was a Stanley Cup team we watched eat the sharks tonight. A dedicated, focused, fast, and very smart Cannuck team vs a San Jose team that seemed to slowly unravel as the Cannucks kept putting the pucks in the net. It was awesome, just awesome. They looked like they were touched by fairy dust tonight. I am so happy for all the Cannucks fans, mostly though for those die-hard, loyalists who always kept looking at the positive side. Tonight is your night and your guys were magic.

GO, CANNUCKS, GO!

If I was Ben Eager's coach he would be in the press box next game, but apparantly after interview
with their coach, it seems he will be back in the lineup next game, oh well, we can watch this
clown perform again, and act like a spoiled baby.

Canucks played a great game, very diciplined and focused, and they slowly pushed san jose into
a very undiciplined and unfocused position, so now canucks are up 2-0 in the series, and will
travel to san jose for a friday game.

It was Patrick Marleau who dropped the gloves and postured for a fight, so all of the yapping about
bieksa picking on one of their best players is a joke, marleau is 6'2" and over 200 lbs., so it seems
he can take care of himself, if it was wellwood then maybe they would have a point. lol

San Jose's defense have a lot of trouble, (dan boyle is an exception to that), canucks are too fast
for them, and cause them fits.

Way to go guys, keep up the good work.

What a god damn brat! Nothing like broadcasting it to the whole wide world! I bet he was the loneliest guy in the dressing room post game!.

Canucks took the boots to them. The Sedin's were great. Bieksa..the list goes on. It's too bad Luongo didn't stop any of the 3 shots he faced.

I agree that luongo looked shaky tonight, I think he is a good goalie, but tonight he seemed to
be scrambling for those pucks close around him on the ice, I was nervous on every play made close around his net.

he was criticized last game too, but I did not agree with that criticizm, because no one seemed to
notice the excellent saves he made, but only the one mistake he made, and niemi also made a similar
mistake in that game which caused a goal, and canucks won the game so, end of story.
I was glad they won that game, so that he didn't have to feel he caused the loss, so that was good.

Thomas was very shaky last night for boston, let in two very easy goals, and lost sight of two or three
stops he made, and left the puck open for anyone to shoot in the net.

We expect luongo to be 'perfect', but none of the goalies are perfect, they all let in bad goals once
in a while, its a team game, I noticed when luongo made that bad pass last game, and in went the shot
from thornton, that the whole bench didn't even flinch, just continued on, played well, and got that
goal back and then some.

Talloola, any of us could've played net for the Canucks tonight and let in 3 or less. I hope he shows up because his team is playing great and deserve more from him, especially if Sharks turn their game around in San Jose.

Hopefully they don't need a goalie and make it a moot point.

He's had great stats all year, and if san jose play better, and have more shots, he will play better too.

You know if canucks win the stanley cup, he will still be criticized, because the nay sayers only see
his mistakes and not his qualities, he has played outstanding all season, and nothing much is said
during those times, but if he makes a mistake, look out, he is again the whipping boy.

however, I do agree that tonight he was not sharp, not the end of the world, the sedins have just started playing and the team has won, and luongo has played well in the playoffs, and hopefully the sedins keep
playing well, and luongo too, kesler isn't scoring now, but still playing well, along with the rest of
the team, they look very deep right now.

I'm glad they replaced glass with tamballini, who hasn't done much since early in the season, but glass
is a big disapointment right now, don't know what happened to him lately, maybe this is all too much,
or maybe he is injured, and we don't know.

VANCOUVER — You know the old saw about the best trades sometimes being the ones that don’t get made?

Mike Gillis, who was named NHL executive of the year by The Sporting News on Wednesday, should maybe mention Sami Salo in his acceptance speech, because the Finnish defenceman’s torn Achilles, suffered playing floorball last summer, is the only reason Gillis didn’t have to deal Kevin Bieksa away to stay under the salary cap.

And a darned good thing it was for the Vancouver Canucks, because quite apart from being the one constant on an injury-plagued blue-line corps all season, Bieksa has found a whole other gear in these playoffs.

Or maybe just the gear the Canucks always suspected he had.

And on a night when San Jose’s gargantuan No. 3, Douglas Murray, was a menacing physical presence and, until the third period, probably the Sharks’ best player, Vancouver’s wiry, explosive No. 3 was better in every way.

Read the entire article - a must read for 'Nucks fans.

Bieksa was on team 1040 just the other day, and for the umteenth time he told them that gillis told him
last summer he would not be traded anywhere, and that was before salo had his accident.

Bieksa asked them 'jokingly' how come they still had their jobs, when they had wrongly reported many times
that he was on the trading block.
I'm sure there were many inquiries asking for bieksa though.

So there will be no supplemental discipline from the league to Ben Eager for his hit on Sedin. Hope he plays exactly the same in game 3, takes 5 penalties and we score on 3 PPs. If the Sharks don't put this aside they will be on the golf course by early next week.

Yes, I agree, but if he again loses his composure, I am a little worried that one of our players might
be badly injured, and out of the game and the playoffs, he was a bomb last night, just waiting to go off,
but all he did was sizzle, hope thats all he does next game.
If they, again get into a position where they are losing badly, he might think, "oh what the hell, might
as well knock one of them into kingdom come, nothing more to lose."

Daniel could have had a concusion, it was that close, his upper lip and nose were bleeding, but he said
all was well, it is a fine line.

Sharks must concentrate on playing hockey, as their focus definitely was lost, and they concentrated on
things other than 'keeping' up, so we'll see if they can gather together their hockey talent, and
come to play for 60 minutes, and not 30 or 40.
The first half of that game they were right there, tied game, and the play was fairly even, then all of
a sudden it wasn't, for the last period.

As long as canucks continue to play with their game plan fully intact, and don't get caught up in anything
else, they will be fine, but there is a fine line between ignoring the ignorance, and 'having' to step up
because the atmosphere has become unbearable.

I do realize that the referees missed the high sicking infraction on thornton, but those things happen,
but I also noticed the two hacking jobs he did on kesler, which they showed us on tv, which also were not
called, guess they just thought that would even it up, there is 'math' involved in officiating. lol

Hope the referrees are 'up' to it.

Some of the talk has been, if you had to pick one to keep, would it be Ehrhoff or Bieksa? This is why I would keep Bieksa. No, he isn't in the video. Watch Ehrhoff's reaction to Eager. Pretends he doesn't see anything, then he's on the outside giving it the fake 'let me at him'.

Both good players but one has a helluva lot more heart.

YouTube - ‪Ben Eager playing hockey, making friends. 05/18/2011‬‏

I wouldn't want to see either one of them go, and if they do have to unload a defenceman because of the
cap, it would probably be ballard, who is watching this playoff from the press box.
