The last time I checked, as a taxpayer, I still own part of GM and some of the others.
Also, if I want to buy a Japanese or Korean car, I wind up paying a hidden import duty so that the jobs of our slackardes can be protected.

What gives here anyways???
Can't these Ontario bone heads complete in the world market??

I subsidize their jobs by buying into their company, I subsidize their jobs by import duties and now I have to subsidize them through transfer payments. They need little education and little skills to work in a production line, but they still make these huge wages and perks for working in a nice air conditioned production line,
What gives here anyways???

I want Harper put a cap on all auto worker wages, set it at, say $25/hr, including all perks..
If they don't want to work for this wage, then Toronto has a lot of unemployed immigrants who would love this job at half this wage in a nice air-conditioned production line.

Cmon, Harper, we gave you majority, now use it to correct all of the screw ups of the Liberals and put Canada on a free market economy.
I don't want to subsidize anybody and I want to buy my vehicles from any country without any duties.

So c'mon Harper, we gave you the power, now use it !!

You want to be able to buy your car from any country with no duty?

That would spell the end of Ontario's auto sector, and all of the suppliers, because if we removed duties on all cars, that would take us out of the free trade on cars for North America, so Canadian-built cars would no longer be able to enter the US duty free, so there would be no reason to have any car plants in Ontario.

If you want your money back, then buy a GM car. If you choose not to buy a GM car either because you don't want to buy a car, or you want to buy a motorbike or bicycle or car from another manufacturer instead, then you forfeit your investment. Doesn't that sound fair? Don't you like having them hold you by the balls like that? I know, I hate it too and I was absolutely sick to my stomach to have our government bail out the car industry, especially seeing that I won't get any of that money back since I'm not planning on buying a GM car!

I was especially sickened that the NDP supported this bail out. After all, I thought the NDP was supposed to be anti big corporations and for the little people! Ha, so much for that eh.

I never agreed to this "investment"... My money was forfeit the moment I paid income taxes

You shouldn't be surprised, the NDP are rabidly pro-union.

It's a win win for everybody!!!

The NDs, you never know which way they will swing!!

Even if there weren't any car plants in Ontario, this would allow the US to lower their prices owing to economies of scale, thus helping to bring car costs down for all consumers North-America-wide, and allow Ontario to then specialize in what we do best, whatever that would be. Invest in education of the unemployed, and companies will move in to exploit educated labor.

Heck, the US doesn't have the canadarm either than they don't complain about that. They even import trains from Quebec and they don't complain about that either. There are plenty fo things we produce that the US doesn't produce. We don't ahve to be able to produce everthing at all costs. I'm quite happy with my bananas being imported and maple syrup being exported thank you very much.

Do you realize how silly you sound whining about a minority party like they're gonna give you the whuppin' you deserve.

Your guy's Cap'n.... Cry to Him.

No whinnin' lone wolf, it is common knowledge that Layton and the ND's are very pro-union.

As far as their minority status is concerned, you're right in that all the NDP can do is holler and yell, but that's about it.

He's everyone's captain right now... And we're still waiting for some good to come out of it.

C'mon mentalfloss, it's been just over a week since the election and (as was pointed out to me), Parliament isn't even sitting right now.

You'll have to be a little patient before you (or anyone) analyze the results.

It's the pro-union stance that keeps me from any more than flirting in NDP's camp. The "whining" is in reference to something dirtier than politics....

The money given to GM from bailout went to build factories in China and Russia.

When you're ready to whine about reality, give me a shout.

Ummm, I'm not sure it went to China and Russia.
But I am sure it went into the pockets of a lot of overpaid production workers.

I am not working my buns off paying taxes, so some poorly trained worker gets an above average wage for doing unskilled production work.

If you want to keep looking like a ****ing moron, go ahead sit on your stupidity. By all means.

Hmmm, judging by your posts you don't sound very intelligent,,,,,,,ummmm actually you sound like a real idiot.

I suspect tho it's not really your fault, you were probably born that way.

So, run along now and have your mommy scrape the kaka out of your diaper so you can be a little happier.

Right into Chinese workers pockets, mexican worker's pockets and Russian worker's pockets.

Go apply for a job at GM if you lack skills to get a real job.

Pretty good for a broke company huh?

How about the new plant in Bogata? Built on GM's own money?

GM is making a healthy profit and paying off its government debts so I really don't see what you are bitching and moaning about.

Go build your own car,I suggest.

What do you do for a living? I need to assess whether you actually earn your money and if not, I'm going to tar and feather you and then feed you to the kraken.
