Funny how most of the muslim world doesn't belive in that yet people still use it to frame the entire muslim population. The few radical elements would recieve a lot less support if the west didn't keep trying to exploit their lands and resources and convert them all to the western way of life. Everyone seems to forget that these "terrorists" are acting in response to western foriegn policy and western actions. None of this happened before the west started to try to control the world's oil for its own benefit without regard for the people of the muslim world.
Peace is not achieved with bombs and bullets. Not that I believe in Jesus but I do believe in the philosophy of turn the other cheek and love thy enemy more than he loves himself. The actions of the west only serve to provoke more violence against us instead of showing us to be the peaceful people we claim to be.

The U.S. represented (as an advocate of Democracy, woman's rights, etc...) a
threat to a power base that control a billion people with religious based
Governments....and 9/11 was a flexing of that power base as an example of
a blow against the concept of the epitome of "the Infidels"...
The U.S. may not be all that it's perceived to be elsewhere (as Canada isn't
either), but it's a symbol of those traits that would threaten a power base in
a society ruled by religious intimidation and suppression of rights to any that
don't follow the interpretation of the powers that be.
I'm not a Christian. "Radical" Islam isn't a big concern out in the middle of the
Canadian Prairies. The Key word is "radical" to support a political power base
with religious doctrine.

I think the point, which your little jarhead brain missed, was that he was living well in PAKISTAN, not Afghanistan, and Pakistan is supposed to be an ally of the US.
I know it hurts you to think but just for a moment consider billions of dollars spent and all the lives lost on an illegal invasion of a country that offered to help bring OBL to justice if even a tiny little bit of proof was shown to them while he was living it up in one of your allied countries.....
