It's a union, and I can't say anything more derogatory about any entity on earth, then that.

A union of labors who work under a "colective agrement" which protects them from the everyday management harasment that has nothing to do with performance and lots to do about power!

whats wrong with cupe?

Just another 4th or 5th "level of Gov't", where the executive fat cats are prospering while the members get the crumbs. I remember years ago being embarrassed, while being depicted as starving by these 400 lb. behemoths. (Actually we were doing alright, ate 3 times a day had a roof, a vehicle and bought beer on Saturday night)

If any elected goverment came even close to representing the need of the Canadian poeple as Union do or better we wouldn't need Unions . We would have labor laws that protect not only women, homosexuals and minority but also white law abiding males whos only crime is being a white male . if you dont believe me go look under harasment legislation. White males are not covered.

You should have quite if you didn't like the union or at the very least put in an application for decertification.

I'm sure you could have gotten a job in the private sector with your skills.

W.T.F. should I have gone anywhere, my gripe was with the Union not the employer? Is there a course offered in your community called "Catching on to Basics 101"?

Of course you liked your employer, the union made them pay, set work loads, gave benefits and a pension which is something no one gets anymore outside a union shop.

Then why did you not file an application for decertification? Heck, they promoted it here in Ontario....of course not one public union decertified.

I'm sure if you were all unsatisfied with the union you could have easily pulled it off.

Did you even attend a meeting to try and implement change?

Public opinion of government workers.

There was no such thing in those days and besides who would want to bother with the red tape?

Then you weren't that upset with the union and if you were you would have changed things with other disatisfied employees by going to meetings and voting.

Decertification has been available for a long time.

That's fine, why would you want to quit a good job that the union fought for.

Like I said, if it was bad and you all hated them you could have changed things.

You didn't because they were doing a good job protecting you and your peers while providing good wages and benefits.

.

See you still have savvying problems. I had the job for about 9 years before the Union arrived on the scene. Obviously my employer was satisfied with me. You don't seem to understand that "every job" just adds to a source of income to fatten up the Union behemoths.

Then why did you not get rid of it?

If the majority of you feels the same way how did the union get certified?

If the employer was so good why did your peers vote to bring one in?

If you were unsatisfied with the unions performance why did you and your peers not get involved to exact change?

You make sound as though it's not a democracy when it is.

People just have to get up off their butt and attend meetings once a month instead of watching hockey.

You had plenty of options.....you decided on one.

Stay and enjoy the benefits of a union.

Are you simple? Benefits????????????? My take home pay decreased by 1% (and later 1.5%) from day 1 with those f*****rs.

Then why were they certified?

Why were they not decertified.....same process?

Did you attend meetings with all the other disatisfied members?

I'll assume you are talkng about dues as the decrease.

You didn't get benefits....ie drugs, dentists etc?

You never got a raise over 30 years?

What was it in relation to inflation?

Despite the recession government employees still got a raise even though the pirvate sector didn't, some haven't gotten increases for a decade.

Actually we had a lot of those benefits before the Union showed and actually a better sick leave plan. Before the Union we could bank 15 unused sick days a year to be paid out 50% at retirement. Then several years later we got cut back some more- only paid 75% for sick time. You should do two things Avro 1. Debate people with an I.Q. of less than 70 to increase your win record. 2. Get rid of that faggy avatar.

Then why was the union certufied if things were okay?

Why was it not decertified if things were not okay?

A Walmart in Quebec was just decertified by people that aren't even professionals.....and you guys guys couldn't do it?

You can call me dumb all you want old fella but it still dosen't explain why you and all the other disatisfied employees didn't take action against this oppressive, unproductive union.

Unless you're just plain lazy their is no excuse.

Why is it that in Canadian politics we are always looking at throwing someone out of
office instead of electing people into office to do the countries business. I have always
believed it is because we cling to a particular party that trades on its name and they all
do. We are not as informed as we should be, so we throw one group out in hopes of
finding that magical group that will get it right. It is like looking for the fountain of youth.
Would it not be better to match the people up with the problems and see who can at
least make an effort to solve them? Na, that would be too easy, there would be none
of those good ole, instant solutions that don't really exist. There would be no personal
preferences, that don't count in the grand scheme of things. When are we going to learn?
I don't believe it will be anytime soon, therefore its another victory for politicians at the
expense of voters. I will bet they have a lot of jokes about us when they meet for informal
occasions.

Now you're making too much sense.

Modern politics has become a game of manipulation of voters far more than a substantive comparison of actual policies. When candidates and parties know that by targeting certain emotional issues over harder to comprehend factual based issues a long slide into the lowest common denominator begins. We're definitely nearing the bottom of that curve in Canada.

Do you ever have a gnawing pain in the ass? Just bad enough to be a slight annoyance, but not bad enough to bother with the doctor. Well that describes you and the Union.

I've worked for non union companies, and on union job sites, where I was forced to sign a union card to get the job. Unions, are in it for one reason, that is to keep the suits in the union, fed.

Of course you liked your employer, the union made them pay, set work loads, gave benefits and a pension which is something no one gets anymore outside a union shop.

Ya, I would suspect you'd know a lot about unions CUPE doll...

Well I have been a full member of CUPE for over a decade and have never recieved one phone call or letter mail from them.....not once.

Why are you arguing with him JLM, he's simply trolling you and you're taking the bait every time.

He doesn't own his own business, he's a union boi....

Since I'm on his ignore list, copy that and post it, so he can see it and see what he has to say.

I wouldn't mind seeing the old fart answer the questions that avro asked.

If the employer was so great before the union came along how did they get certified? If the union was so bad after they got in why didnt they get decertified. Both very viable questions. The only reason for not answering would be because the answers will make JLM look like an idiot........again.
