Why is it that in Canadian politics we are always looking at throwing someone out of
office instead of electing people into office to do the countries business. I have always
believed it is because we cling to a particular party that trades on its name and they all
do. We are not as informed as we should be, so we throw one group out in hopes of
finding that magical group that will get it right. It is like looking for the fountain of youth.
Would it not be better to match the people up with the problems and see who can at
least make an effort to solve them? Na, that would be too easy, there would be none
of those good ole, instant solutions that don't really exist. There would be no personal
preferences, that don't count in the grand scheme of things. When are we going to learn?
I don't believe it will be anytime soon, therefore its another victory for politicians at the
expense of voters. I will bet they have a lot of jokes about us when they meet for informal
occasions.

Hither and yon
You forgot to mention, that before the area is over, there would be social unrest in the streets.
Harper and his social conservatives made up of the religious fundamentalists would see this
country back in the 1950's you know back in that simpler time that never existed. The political
climate in this country would see one thing though, when the next election came the voter
turnout would be overwhelming, like it was for the destruction of Lyin' Brian.
I don't thing Harper will get his majority and at the present time I am not sure Harper will even win.
There is a slow change happening in the land. people view the election from numbers and polls
and we learned before that, that is not he case in this country. How will the splits come in a number
of riding's, how will the popular vote numbers change and where? When all is said and done,
we could see a very different parliament than we anticipate. I have seen a lot of upsets and different
outcomes over the years. If Canadians really think about the future Harper who is a political cousin
of W will be short lived. If Harper doesn't win a majority his day in the sun is over, as is Iggy and
Jack. Ms May is never going to have a day in the sun so we scarcely need to mention her but like a
thorn she is there. I think we will end up with much the same as now.
Atlantic Canada, not much there for the conservatives
Quebec less than they have now
Ontario I don't see too much to be gained for Harper
Prairies Things will stay much the same as now
BC It could be that the Conservatives lose a couple

the problem is no one else will make substantial gains either and the result will be what we basically
have with a few new faces to curse at in the coming years.

People get the government they vote for.
Its just that simple.

And then they, in general, deserve the outcomes and decisions of the winning party.

And if you are to lazy to vote or ingest the party's history or platforms.

Then you are probably a drone and really should not worry too much about the society you exist in and the directions it may take.

I don't see what is so difficult to understand - you should never vote to re-elect a government. You really don't want to reward a bunch of people who treat you like idiots. At the very least, give a new crop a chance to prove themselves different.

To a certain extent, I think they all treat us like idiots, TP.

So, basically, a Harper Majority is bad for anyone who's not Colpy.

Now your getting it! LOL

I think you are being a little extreme (paranoid perhaps) a few of those things might be good, but I'm sure he won't do them all!

If we vote him out he wont do any! LOL

After the long gun registry is eliminated we can possibly go back to a Liberal government. That will give the Libs time to get a leader.

See this is the part that throws me off. If you watch everything Harper has done and how he has acted when confronted by the thruth you easely come to see a very predictable leader. He clearly comes off as a man who thinks hes better the the constitution and the poeple he is to serve. Then out of the blue he does something that totaly goes against his clear agenda to increase goverment power over the poeple and apposes the gun registry which clearly would serve his cause. That realy throws me off? Theres got to be a reason for that that I don't see!

The reason you don't see it is simple.

Harper's agenda has nothing whatsoever to do with your idiotic paranoid fantasies.

Therefore he does not behave in the way you would expect.

Got any suggestions?

Can't suggest in your riding you would have to look but lets just say there is Green, NDP, Christian reform, and some independants!!
The choice is really yours that is why this is a democrocy, if you want someone to dictate your choice then that takes out the democratic practice that we have!
Don't fall for that dumb founded statement that there is only liberal or cons!! No matter who you elect in your riding, they have a seat/vote on all legislation tabled in the house of commens that is their elected responcibility to their respective constituants! But they do need such to direct them in their decision to ensure they represent their constituants views.

Send your point home that we want other choices by making one that we do have, that would mean an informed decision for the best choice that is not a power mongering party that has not looked after our interests.

And replace him with which A$$hole?

I see you persist with that faggy avator!
Dude, stop touching the CUPE dolls box of tissues. Take a look at his avatars, his nasty disposition, the fact that he's an emasculated union boi, now do the math.

Did you figure out what he uses those tissues for?

That kind of attitude is what has screwed us so far!!
And it is what will sell this country to its neighbour!!
Guess you just want that system up here one or the other???
If thats the case get the f*** out and move there!!
Either partake in bringing forth change, or shut up and be sheeple simply follow the flow.
Wanna be part bringing in change then do your part, which is not insulting anyone who voices an opinion!!

No, what has screwed us so far, are politicians that lie through their eye teeth, trying to leave legacies, instead of just running a country right.
And it is what will sell this country to its neighbour!!
See last comment in this reply...

You don't have just a differing opinion, you have made some pretty big assumptions, then offered ultimatums. That kind of crap, deserves nothing more than contempt and insult.

Saggy?

Ain't nuttin saggy about my avatar old fella....now yours on the other hand....tennis balls in a pair socks.

Gross.
Changing peoples posts, has been made, strictly verboten. Besides the fact that common ethical practice, is to emphasize the part you modify.

But then again, what would you know about ethics, being a CUPE member and all.
