Back to the OP....

More riots and more deaths and injuries. To top it all off the wondeful Rev was on CNN this morning saying how all muslims are horrible people and this is in no way attributable to him or his actions.

Okay, I guess you don't understand the concept of history, since history is what has happened to us all, economics is an estimation of how things should theoretically work in a fantasy world.

I actually enjoy history, the problem is as much as it is talked about no-one seems to ever learn from it or put it to good use for our future.

If that meant an end to the **** disturbers then you have to allow that it is the **** disturbers already in power that are the dangerous ones if the rights of the poor are at the top of the priority list.

That statement all on it's own shows how ignorant you are.

And calling somebody ignorant without backing it up with any explanation of you position or the logic used to determine that opinion makes you not ignorant and superior how?

I expected more than that from you Gerry. I did not think it was your MO to just launch a personal attack.

Really? Really? You need an explanation as to why that was an ignorant statement?

I would certainly concede it was a substantially arrogant statement, but not ignorant. History has a useful role but as we as a society don't seem to learn from historical mistakes it has the appearance of being less utile than econmics which affects eveybodies life on a daily basis. I am sure we could debate the merits, or lack therof, of both for a long time on a philosophical level.

Here is some facts some might of missed, taken from the Sunday Morning News Circuit
today. Apparently the book burnings, by the idiot minister in Florida went almost unnoticed.
It wasn't until, the President of Afghanistan, Karzai, mentioned it and asked the American
Government to throw him in jail. Karzai who was educated in America knows about free
speech and he did it to score some cheap political points.
In my view, the Afghan Government is propped up and supported by the western powers.
This was clearly an attack on the United Nations the same as 9/11 was. We in the west
should demand the Karzai Government step down. If not all aid must be cut off and we as
the western powers of NATO must take control of the conflict fighting it no holds barred.
If such a group were to form like that and attack people in the same manner again, open
fire straight on into the crowd. It appears to me they only respond to force so force it
should be until they get the message. For far too long, the Muslim world has lived in an
egg shell they don't understand democracy, they don't understand civility and we have to
teach them that the hard way before we can make progress in putting them on the road
to civilization which is still a long way off. The era of tribalism must end.

Grumpy, I think you may need to crawl back under your rock and remain silient here.

The west installed the Karzai govt as a puppet regime so why ask him to step down, why not just do another Iraq with fullscale invasion forces, that has seemed to work so well in removing Saddam who was also installed by the west as a puppet.

You definitely seem to not understand the concept that the western powers are in their country against their will commiting acts of war in an undeclared war which is contrary to the Geneva conventions

Maybe it is the era of imperialistic capitalism that need to end and the west should get out of the region before many more people get killed.

Your open approval of random gunfire into a civillian crowd is abhorrent and you might want to check this facist idea at the door.

Yup.... no need to know history at all, especially when you can make it up as you go to support your own agenda.

'' I also think the people
who burned the Koran are not much better than those who murdered the two aid workers''

That was pretty much my point in my post but it still managed to get a negative rep rating.

Extremists from both religions need to temper their hate especially since their Holy Books call for peace and reconciliation, not for hate and death. Violence begets violence and, it seems, extremists will never learn.

Couldn't agree moe. It is the few extreme radicals on every side that create all the problems. 6.799 billion out of 6.8 billion just want to live in peace.

Last time I checked, Saddam was not "installed" by any western nation.
You might want to recheck that. He came to power with the full support of the US and their CIA.

There's a hell of a great source..... let's look at who the author is of that little ditty.

Tinashe Nyatanga

I am 19 right now. I have lived in Zimbabwe, Belgium, Algeria and Iran. My interests are writing screenplays, directing them and filming them. I also love to play video games and sports

Wow.... now there is one hell of a reliable source for information.

Wow.... now there is one hell of a reliable source for information.

So what would be the required source data to convince you? The still classified CIA documents themselves.

It is pretty common knowledge that he was aided into power by the CIA to engage in the Iran-Iraq war and to be a buffer against communist infiltration into the region. the same reason the CIA backed and funded Bin-laden when the soviets occupied Afghanistan.

But hey, don't let anything like common sense get in the way of your disbelief.

So, let me get this straight. The documents to verify what you and this kid allege are still "classified" and therefore unavailable to the average person. Yet, you and this kid posting on yahoo, seem to have this information. None of the biography's I have read make claim to a CIA backing. So, I would say that it is you that, once again, has a problem with "common sense".
