He's the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee that is going to begin holding hearings this week on the supposed radicalization of American Muslims.

"“We must pledge ourselves to support those brave men and women who this very moment are carrying forth the struggle against British imperialism in the streets of Belfast and Derry."

"If civilians are killed in an attack on a military installation, it is certainly regrettable, but I will not morally blame the I.R.A. for it.”

Yes, that's Republican Congressman Peter King, anti-terrorism crusader and IRA supporter.

Crazy, huh?

I have quaint memories of 9/11 and most people thinking that all Arabs / Muslims should be deported. Instead, we're now getting the rubber glove treatment at our airports. Grandma Dorris from Northern Alberta is obviously a Taliban Terrorist!

Is Grandma Dorris another one of those Canadian terrorists? :)

I've never been bothered in our airports but our airport staffs usually go after the old people. I guess because if some guy with an Ontarian gay-lisp stuck his hand down my pants he would get a broken nose

American airports are impossible. Full rectal exams. Flying from America is an ordeal.

This does prompt a question. Isn't it interesting that about 90% of those apprehended in the US and Canada and accused of crimes of terrorism are radical Muslims? The other 10% seem to be just whacko's. There are some questionable post secondary educational institutions in the US setting up student visas for some who have been apprehended. I would really like to see that looked into. I do feel there are residents of both nations who are immigrants who entred legally but harbor ill feelings toward both of us. King's approach may not be the best but at least he is looking for information.
