I see your point but that game last night was so close it could have gone either way.
In a way, I see Chicago as a potential trap for the Canucks. The Canucks were treading
on eggs a bit last night so maybe if they do meet Chicago in the playoffs, it won't be such a tight game.

two things for me concerning last nights game.

1) canucks had just played dallas then nashville, neither of those teams came out with the speed
that chicago did.

2) just got back from road trip, always an adjustment it seems, I was hoping it wouldn't take them
too long to up their pace, luongo gave them the time they needed, then it was a barn burner.

Let's have a little game, predicting the date the Canucks will clinch a playoff berth. I predict March 16.

If they win the Stanley Cup, they'll have lots of money for him. A very minimum of 8 games on home ice and probably about 12.

I don't remember when his present contract expires. They won't negotiate a new contract until the
final season before present one expires.

I was looking at a 2010 salary list where it showed Kesler's salary as $1,700,000.00. A 2011 list shows him
getting $5,000,000.00 which seems quite reasonable judging by what the rest of the team is getting.

The Canucks have 77 points right now and they are in a bit of a streak of five consecutive wins. Now they had a longer streak than that
earlier. If they win another eight games, they will have the 93 points you spoke of. If they keep on playing like they are now, it becomes
a mute point because nobody is going to catch them.

Comparing records, the Canucks are all over the Senators. I would say that the Canucks will have their sixth win in a row

are capable of winning, even if they are down in the standings, and as soon as anybody takes anybody
for granted 'you will lose'.
these players and coaches dwell on that mind set every game, don't look back, don't look ahead, focus on
the present, win 'this' game, then move on.

It's only the media and fans who constantly talk about outcomes, either short term or long term, and fans
and media can't focus on the present and can't think about only one game at a time, that is why they

yes, he matured this season, got it all together, lost the trash talk, lost the kamakazzie style, always

team leader, and if he had been this way last season, I would have wished 'him' for captain, even though
henrik is a great captain too.
Maybe it's better that henrik has the C, he is so 'cool', and unflappable, and
kesler doesn't have to worry about behaving perfect, as he would if he had the C,
he can spout off once in a while, if he needs to. lol

team is doing, and has been doing for some time now, playing on top of the league, winning lots of
games, and doing it with great flare, not defensive but playing both ends very well.
The fans seem to be afraid to allow themselves to enjoy this, they don't want to be dissapointed if
they don't go on to win the cup, there is 'fear' and 'doubt' out there, and this wonderful season
is going by very quickly, and they are actually missing it, as their fear and doubt get in the way.
Many phone calls, in to the radio, always sound so 'doubtful', as though they don't really believe what
they are watching, and it really must be some kind of mistake.
And, that old saying, that is so stale now, that over the past 40 years the team
has dissapointed the fans so many times, that they can't think any other way, well
to me that is 'crap', all of these players, coaches, owners and g. manager had
nothing to do with the team 40 years ago, and many years after that, so get over
it, it's all about 'you', (not you JLM, just talking to fans in general- lol),not what the 'team' has 'done' to you.

To me, that is sad. I am having a ball watching this team, it is so much fun. I love it.

wierd game tonight, canucks totally in charge up 3 zip, then let ottawa back
in, they got very excited, ramped up their game and played better.
pins and needles the rest of the way, two goal posts on the empty net, then
samuellson scores from 2 miles away.
oh well, a win is a win, so good for them.
